Terrain Tamer Upgraded Upper Control Arms for Toyota Hilux D4d | Installation and UCA's Explained

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The newest modification to my 2013 D4d Hilux is upgraded upper control arms from Terrain Tamer.
Upper Control Arms (UCA's):
Upper control arms are suspension components that connect the vehicle's frame to the knuckle spindle and are typically found in independent front suspension (IFS) vehicles.
Here are some of their key features and functions:
- Middleman between the vehicle frame and knuckle spindle: Upper control arms act as a middleman between the vehicle's frame and the knuckle spindle, allowing for smooth suspension movement and maintaining proper alignment.
- Suspension movement: Upper control arms enable suspension movement, allowing the vehicle to absorb bumps and irregularities on the road.
- Proper alignment: Upper control arms help maintain proper alignment, ensuring that the vehicle's wheels are properly positioned and tracking correctly.
- Upgraded UCA's: Terrain Tamer UCA's are designed to return a vehicle's suspension to its original specifications and allow for more accurate wheel alight for vehicles with aftermarket suspension.
Akela has received new upper control arms. These upgraded Terrain Tamer parts allow for better suspension travel, upgraded and extended ball joints, more space around the coil and better wheel alignment. My old UCA (upper control arms) were still standard and the ball joints were not good anymore.
I've had Terrain Tamer suspension for over a year, so it's not mandatory to install UCAs with upgraded suspension, but it's a good upgrade to get if you can. It allows your wheels to be aligned more accurately amongst other things.
Special thanks to Zane and the crew from TigerWheel for doing the fitment for me. Along with Marinus and Terrain Tamer Africa, for supplying the parts.

Nice video. Just one thing I noticed, is that the new washers that were supplied with the control arms were not fitted between the shock tower and control arm bush liks it is supposedto. They were zip-tied in the correct place when removed from the box. They are not meant to be used in place of the OE washers on the outside. They are used on the inside to prevent the bush from pushing over the tube that is welded on the shock tower.

You will get to feel the difference in time! I've done mine with Ironman UCA due to costs, but much much better drive than oem. You will find when on dirt the vehicle is more stable and sways less across the road. Lekker man!!
