The most complete female tennis player of the past 20 years even though her career was pretty short. I miss her so much, she was so different. Love you Justine.

@Nepoleon Khwairakpam What other players in the last 20 years are great across all surfaces, have won all of the Slams in singles AND in doubles and are equally good offensive as well as defensive players? Certainly not Henin who never won Wimbledon.

I'll never forget the moment when I was 14 at our hotel in Melbourne during the Australian Open, going down the elevator to get breakfast when the elevator door opened and in walked a sleepy Justine Henin. I didn't want to disturb her so I just smiled and she smiled back :)

She has never been my favourite player, but it's impossible not to admire Henin, if you're a true tennis lover. There's nothing missing in her game, and watching her play in 2006/07 was pure magic. Sometimes I wonder what she could've won if she was a bit taller and stronger. It's amzing was she was able to do with such a small size. You must be extra talented to overcome that. I wish her all the best for her new life.

difference between henin and serena is that serena capitalised when she reached a final during her peak years. Henin reaches 4 finals in 2006 and won 1. while henin was amassing all those slams Serena was in a dark place- the brutal murder of her sister and injuries. by 2008 henin had hit a wall just like capriati in 2002, hingis in 2000 and Davenport in 2000. She wasn't winning anymore majors. Serena effectively put her into retirement. Henins so called successful year in 2007 by wining 2 slams took alot out of her. A champion should be able to bounce back which unfortunately she was unable to do.

There are no coulda, woulda, shouldas in tennis. We can apply the same "what if" logic to Serena. Serena missed sixteen Grand Slam titles in her career which is worth about 4 years in total due to injuries. If we factor in that she has won over a third of the Slams she has participated in, that means she would have probably won 6 of those 16 which would put her at 29 instead of 23.

This brought me tears in my eyes and moved me when she refers to her feeling connected to something bigger than her... that’s spirituality man. Also when she started visualizing her future as a champion of RG this as a kid in her room... I know the feeling, I’m not a GS champion just another emotionally miserable kid who got out of his trauma childhood by visualizing and sacrificing it all to live his vision... and I did it just like her... in my own way I want to give back all I got and made me a better person.

If it weren't for Justine, I would never have looked at women's tennis as a real sport. for me it would be an analogue of women’s football, where the game fades into the background, and most importantly how the girls look. just at that moment there were a lot of Russian tennis players (to cheer for their own) and just beauties, and then I see her play... it just changed my attitude in an instant. Of course, she became my favorite tennis player, men's tennis faded into the background and for the sake of her games I even missed football matches (although I only watched tennis when there was no interesting football). Her tennis is an art. this is when, in anticipation of a match, you close your eyes and imagine unimaginable combinations and plays, and then the match begins and it embody, or even surpass, what you dreamed of seeing on the court. There has never been such a tennis shirt and probably never will be. tennis is orphaned for me without her... thank you for everything, Queen Justine!
