OMG I’m so glad you did this one . Chris Stapleton is a freaking BEAST ! He’s in a league of his own .

I watched it live and was standing up, jumping up & down screaming at my TV. I knew I was watching a truly epic performance and I still feel it was one of the best ever live duet performances I have ever seen/heard. So glad you liked it and it didn’t disappoint.

He is honestly an amazing singer. His wife is the woman who is singing with them. She sings with Chris, and is a big reason he actually sings. I think he deals with anxiety (not positive it’s anxiety but I think that’s correct) so she sings with him to help him, if you watch live performances you will notice he looks at her often while singing. She also helped push him to be a performer since he was a song writer for so long before he even decided to sing his music. They have amazing performances, their rendition of You are my Sunshine comes to mind so definitely recommend!!

That was one of the most authentic reactions I've seen to this collab. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Chris Stapleton. That's JT's band Tennessee Kids doing this set and Chris's wife Morgane providing those high harmonies.

It’s my understanding that Justin’s wife called Chris and asked him to attend JT’s birthday party a few years back. Chris thought he wanted him to perform for him. The truth was that JT is a big Chris Stapleton and was inviting him as a guest. Their friendship was born. They have recorded together and performed in concert together as well.

This is quite possibly one of the best live performances of all time. Chris Stapleton, despite having won new artist of the year in 2015 at the CMAs, was relatively unknown because he did not receive a ton of air play until after he won. They were not going to give him a spot to perform that night, but he had met Justin Timberlake prior to this and they were friends (Stapleton has written songs for what seems like most of the music industry) and the CMA organizers said that if he could get Justin to come perform, they'd give him 2 slots. What's bad is that there were other performers that had to go on after that later in the show. Imagine how hard that would have been! The lady stage left is Morgane Stapleton. She sings harmony on the Tennessee Whiskey record as well. This song is not original, it was previously recorded by David Alan Coe, but Chris made it his own by rearranging it. Glad you found him! He's one of the most amazing voices in history for sure!

Thanks Danyelle! I originally gave Tommy Chris as my UMB months ago but then chickened out since his music can be slow and deep and thought maybe 5 songs might not be what people want so chickened out and swapped out OneRepublic last minute. I have a UMB this month yet & gave him a choice of last MITAM songs, first listen to Mid Mem, or Keith Urban. However, I did dm him and ask now that he has seen this does he want to do Chris instead. 😂 We’ll see what he decides to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️. but I have been wanting him to see this video for sooooo long (easily a year)… So I am thrilled he finally did and liked it like I hoped he would.

Stapleton and Timberlake have a one-take video that is great musically but is art from the point of view of the videography. And you have to look at another live performance called Cold. The woman is his wife. She is a good writer and sings well but her greatest success, and Chris', are the five kids they produced. Stable family. Love what you do. There is a heaven on earth. One impressive thing about Stapleton is his ability to work quickly. His song, Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore was written in just a few minutes. But his wife pointed out that the speed is not the impressive part because he has so much stuff in his head it is never truly new. He just borrows the bits and pieces and puts them together depending on mood, motivation, and circumstance. The fact that he can do that and still be sociable and level-headed is what impresses me. Great artists seldom have that stability and common sense.

I think you need to do a reaction video to Chris Stapelton's song, "COLD" (studio verson). He's from Kentucky, his genre is mostly Country Soul/Country Blues. Damn.. this man can sing, his voice is amazing.. it has so much emotion that you can feel it.
