Super creepy scene, but why she went to give birth right next to the ACID ocean where everyone knew there were horrible creatures that could crawl out onto land is baffling at best.

I think she went there to give birth and abandon the baby on the shore. But when the sea monster swooped in to grab the baby, her maternal instinct kicked in and she no longer wanted to give the baby up. That's what I got away from the scene anyway.

@@kuttermak Except that acid ocean plus sea monster is also dangerous TO HER, especially at a very vulnerable time. It's like a woman on Earth who doesn't want her baby going to a busy highway to give birth while there's a gang war going on nearby.

@@kuttermak I know I’m late at this but I was thinking she was going to throw the baby in the acidic ocean. But I agree her material instincts kicked in and she changed her mind.

I feel so bad for Tempest. She just comes to terms and makes peace with the fact that it’s HER baby and it’s snatched away. 1:33

I feel so bad for ridley Scott and the people who saw this waste of time.

This is actually seen in elephants. so basically, a female elephant sees a newborn baby elephant and wants to raise it because she knows the mother can’t take care of it that well so she wants what’s best for the offspring. The biological mother mother, of course, refuses most of the time, and this results in a fight between the mothers, and whoever wins keeps the baby.

I noticed that the monster's touch only harmed the woman and not her baby. So was taking the baby and raising it this creature's intention?

Well, whenever I gotta travel through an acidic ocean I always do so inside a creepy mermaid über….

For me , tempest and the creature are the same person . 2 « time travel « on the same planet . Tempest is the present , the creature is the future. The creature is tempest evolution. How the creature know tempest was here with the baby . Why the creature is not agressive . How the creature know the baby is immune to acid . The creature is the woman in the future . Grandmother plan .

@@kuttermak first season. Cold place. Dead big snake . End of season they go into the other side of the planet. Time travel . Hot place. And snake come alive . And the « cartoon » on the cave with mother and dad. Grandmother who remember dad. God I love this show ^^ I hope the writer Aaron something are going to write a book :)

That creepy siren mermaid monster has took her baby away, how devastating.

Um look at its feet than laugh at it and run.

did the sea creature eat the baby or make the baby it's own? some species of fish carry offspring in their mouths- called mouthbreeders and male seahorses give birth. the way it gently took and cradled the baby [ it burned her but the baby was unharmed] rather than snatch and shove the baby in

She tried to make the baby her own. The sea creature’s original baby was stillborn so when she heard the cries of the newborn she took it as a replacement

@@thiagoalbornoz5062 did you watch it? No. The baby survived and the sea creature was shot. The girl rejected the baby in the end after alll.

Tempest is just a dumb character. Not a single time has she made the correct choice in the entire show. Later on she decides the baby is not worth keeping anyway despite all of the despair she feigns here

I absolutely agree with you mate 👍 first couple of episodes were great, but then the series started to get really stupid

These creatures are actually devolved human...I think that they just care about the baby...I could be wrong...but I think I am more right on this one
