I was at a Sammy Hagar concert in Kalamazoo back in the 80s or 90s, when to our surprise, Uncle Ted came out and jammed with Sammy for a while. The place went wild. What an awesome show! Thank you Ted and Sammy!

That was when Ted lived in Jackson, Mi. Unfortunately, Michigan became a left/liberal state and he had to move to Texas! He hit the nail on the head.....our bodies are a "Temple" and we should take care of it.

Two of the greatest guitar/entertainers ever! And they are still doing it today. Rock and Roll doesn't get old.

I still got some of your first albums Rock on Ted.

Love both these rockers . My friend and I would jam to Ted's State of Shock album (on 8 track tape of course) on the way to deer camp.This was even before we knew he was a hunter. Thought Sammy was off his rocker when he joined VH (thought he was coming into his own with his solo career) till I realized he only made an already great band into a super band.

A little Truth Logic n Common Sense I'd say helped a bit too!

I absolutely adore Uncle Ted and Ms. Sweet Sweet Shemane Nugent and Sammy Hagar too. These are people to look up to and their ways of just existing as good hearted human beings. Just like the comment below mine here, I also live atop a mountain in the Texas Hill Country and I absolutely love my lifestyle. Thanks Ted for helping me make this life so much better here and all Honor and Glory to God! Amen brother!

They both seemed to stay really active in their later years.

God bless them both, still out there playing, and kicking butt doing it. I've seen Uncle Ted about 3 or 4 times, and Sammy about the same, 1 of which was the first tour when he joined VH.

Had many of Nuge’s albums before the rise of VH in 1978…Not just his solo stuff like Ted Nugent, Free For All, Cat Scratch Fever, Double Live gonzo etc…but his earlier stuff during the Amboy Dukes era like Survival of the Fittest,,,Marriage in the Rocks,,,Call of the Wild and Tooth ,Fang and Claw….A lot of great stuff ….Staying away from Drugs and Booze was something I remember him following all down the line,,, it was said in the Amboy Dukes for instance that he threw out anyone he suspected of taking drugs…Nuge had a reputation for being the crazy man of rock but I believe there was ‘method in his madness’…You see, he came to prominence in the late 1960s and during that time he saw the fall of HENDRIX in 1970 and so many other rock n rollers and contemporaries who indulged in substances and crashed and burned as a result…From Brian Jones to Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison etc…And as a focused player Ted was determined to learn from their mistakes and not go down the same auto destructive path because he’d witnessed the casualties of that route way.

@@bb_lz9790 some great tracks which remained in his set list….Obviously Hibernation and Great White Buffalo but also more obscure tracks that didn’t remain on the later live set list like Lady Luck,,,Living in the Woods,,,Pony Express and of course Rob Grange’s Renegade. I always wanted more of these track to be in his live set during his solo career with Epic records. And of course the Free For All album was an interesting project with MEATLOAF involved before people even really knew who he was…

Even worse is when you hear people talking about attending their concerts being wasted was the main attraction and mostly what they talked about above even the music. Some people just look for a excuse to do drugs and it controls their lives.

@@JohnDoeEagle1 Yes....Drugs in rock took a lot of casualties...In later years band like SABBATH split up over them even though thank God there were no fatalities... & of course Alcohol was a drug too .......I remember in Sammy's book RED he talked about having a Father who was not just a drunk but a VIOLENT drunk unfortunately. And then there was poor KEITH MOON. He was really funny & entertaining but again it was booze which drove him over the edge eventually back in 1978.

The first time I saw Ted Nugent it was like standing 5 feet from NASA rocket launch ...Hair blown back , eyes bugging out and like my skin was on fire ! Like I said I walked out of the concert hall BLOWN AWAY ! Awesome Ted ...just awesome . PK

Sound checks. The band X there is a relatively recent video it is a small venue I think they were going out on the road after a long hiatus. The guitar is kind of a fixed volume he and the drums kind of set the stage sound level in this small gathering. The vocalist she couldn't hear herself, the bassist/vocalist couldn't hear himself he is saying cug the stage monsters etc. etc. his mic is stationary she is moving around covering her ear or the other But ! By the end of the opening song they pretty much had it figured out. I like John Doe's Guild collection I've seen this once and Billy Zoom (I hope he is ok)Tone Freak! Billy Zoom is so cool X is cool I do apologize though. I don't get out much so forgive me Sammy for not seeing you. You and The Nuge. Top shelf since the beginning. Live long and prosper friends
