Technique Of The Month | April | Wacky Worm

This month is one where there are a lot of fish spawning across the country. There are some still hanging around down south, lots are starting across the mid part of the country and it won’t be long for some of our northern friends. A wacky worm is a simple rig but picking the right bait for the depth you are fishing is critical. Your presentation of it is too! Slower the better most of the time. Hope you go catch some big ones on the wacky!!!
For any of the gear I use all season long you can get it here: www.basspro.com/SearchDisplay...

Love your witness. You are truly an inspiration to all of us. While there is a lot of fishing info on KZread, I know that I am getting the best when I watch your channel. Gonna be fishing Lake Athens with a guide in about a month. Loved watching you crush them there for that amazing win. Blessings, brother.

1:30 a.m., can't get to sleep. Got on here and found you just browsing Ott. "Let's see how Ott fishes a Wacky Worm" methinks. And then after you catch one, standing on one leg with the other foot up on a barrier, I get a Testimony, and oh What a Testimony! I got surprised and excited The excited way of your speech and the sincerity and the joy in your voice had me saying, "Preach It Ott! Preach It" out loud. I'm gonna watch the fishing technique tomorrow. I'm going to bed now with my joy in my heart. Thank you Ott. It does my heart good to see a Brother in Christ proclaim it before the world.

I fish the boat canals in our RV Park. They are weeds from side to side, and a lot of fish cruise in those canals. So I fish the edges and the center. When they are cruising many times they hit it in the first few seconds. On the edges it takes the technique you just described. Standing on a dock and catching fish after fish is just a blast. Bass, pike, and bowfin, the bowfin. The pike really love bladed jigs. As I tell my son, if it shakes on the end of the line I am happy. Thanks for the tips.

I hate to burst any bubbles, but I was taught this technique back in 1975. Used a 6" creme worm, and caught many stringers of bass up to 9lbs in weight. While it works in larger reservoirs, the best results came in farm ponds of still water of shallow to medium depth.
