    Amen to that!!! Hell just tinker with different stuff and showcase each product for all the people who cannot afford to buy some the stuff just to see if it will perform how they want it too! Let's get some more spl vids in the test jeep like finish the damn NSv4 video then show us what a single xv3 can do, a zv6, a NSv5 all these new products and not one video- not one "go till it blows" 🤷‍♂️ SLACKKKKIN

    @@kevinAuman1 yeah I feel like they’re missing out on huge marketing potential they’d have just by showcasing the product on here and showcasing the developments that Jake makes on these new revisions/versions. Their website isn’t updated quick enough, so there’s plenty of info they could get out there to point to as a video reference.

    I know this is Derrick’s channel too, but even on the main sundown channel they’ve been slacking. I know they’re busy all the time and word of mouth does good enough for them, but I feel like something should be out there to showcase newer products and nobody better to do them than the company themself.

    Exactly what i was looking for, bought a bass habit SPL2100DF.1 and it came with one of those, had no idea how it works and couldnt figure out so left it, but i wanted to utilize the "clip" lamp on it to see when im clipping, thanks to this, i can now safely use it without being scared of messing it up :)

    I like to set my bass knob to half way and then dial in the gain on the amp to the correct volume I like. Then due to the bass knob being half way you have the ability to lower or raise the volume in select music do to its quality. Like over the air radio needs more volume do to reception of the air wave, satellite radio has more quality do to it being a better reception, mp3 is even better, and lossless being the best and cleaner/stronger signal...That what works best for me. Also I recorded a .5 to .7 db loss in SPL do to using the bass knob as there is resistence in the line from the amp to the pentiometer knob itself. IF you know the real wattage your amp is producing and the RMS of the subwoofer itself it make using the pentiometer even easier. My Stinger MT1000.1 is 1069 real watts dyno tested at 1 ohm. If I set my bass knob to half way, dial my amp to 65% I have approximately 700 watts which is the RMS of my sub. Now I can dial in under RMS or over RMS wattage by having set the bass knob at half way point...

    On the Salt amps, the cable is a 5 twisted pair 10 pin RJ50. It’s the same size as a regular rj45 but has 10 wires instead of 8. I haven’t yet, but I’m getting a few RJ50 jacks and making my own patch cord to have the color cable I want as well as exact length. Take that shit to a further level of custom. I’m a low voltage data guy, so it just goes hand and hand for me.

    Back in the day, I had a half din, in dash crossover, with remote gain on it, it had gains for low mid and highs, plus the crossover frequency knobs, seems low was 40-120hz, I really liked it, if a song had a bit too much high, I could turn the. Volume down in the tweeters, and miss if I needed, I normally kept the knobs set half way, low pass at 80hz, mid at high pass 80Hz, it worked great, until someone broke into my garage and my car to stole it! I hate thieves , makes you not want to not have stuff! If someone , some Douche hole! Just taking it!

    Can you set your gain/bass knob levels by turning the knob all the way up and then slowly roll the gain until either you see a clip indicator light or your woofers are maxed??? So then essentially when you turn bass knob down or up it should be a clean signal and the power ceiling is already set by the gain control or do we really have to figure out how much voltage pre-amp our audio source is putting out and try to match the gain to that accordingly??? 🤔🤷‍♂️💪🔊 SUNDOWN VS. So if I set knob half way and turn gain up on amp to max, it will play at 50% half way or 100% half way. The way I’ve learned is what your gain is set on the amp is the same on the knob no matter what.

  • @marcmo7138

    If your gain is max on your amp and your remote is at 50% you will get 50% gain. Then if you crank the remote to 100 you get 100% gain. Don't know why you would want to do that as a gain on an amp is not a volume knob. Always set your gain on your amp to a clean setting. He explains it very well in the video.

    Cool, you then can easily explain the difference between remote gain knob, remote bass boost knob, and remote level knob (the one with the RCA's).

  • @Thumper68

    @Thumper68

    8 ай бұрын

    @@TheSummer750 yeah I can. Remote bass boost knob is garbage don’t use bass boost it just causes clipping. Gain knob controls gain to setting you’ve done on your amp so if it’s at 50% then when the knob is 100% it’s never higher then that 50% setting on the amp. Rca bass remote is controlling the signal voltage going to the amplifier from the head unit. More incoming voltage to amp the easy it is to amplify so you’d set your amp gains with the knob 100% so you wouldn’t clip if you turned it up to far say you tuned with knob at 50%. I personally prefer gain knob because more rca connections become weak points imo. Both work though.
