Tech Talk: Making Your Ride Safer

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this Tech Talk, Carl explains some common ways to reduce fatigue and increase safety while out riding your motorcycle. Not everyone thinks of "fatigue" as the thing that needs to be addressed, but ultimately that's what it is. When your bum gets tender from a long ride, you search for a better seat or soft topper to alleviate that issue. Hands going numb so you picked up something better, that's your unintentional search to reduce fatigue.
One of the best arsenals of safety that any rider can have, is to attend a rider safety / training course to expand on your skills. You may be good on the dirt, but are you a good rider on the street, or vice versa? Not all of these courses are for beginners and can actually benefit you experienced riders. Plus, let's not forget the insurance discount many companies are offering after completion of a safety course.
LED lights are a great safety upgrade to any motorcycle. They can even give an updated appearance to an old bike and let's not forget to mention the power savings by going from a halogen type head light to an LED unit.
A new seat and grips are a sure way to reduce rider fatigue. Whether you choose a Procycle seat for your DR650 or a Seat Concepts seat for your T7, best believe your butt will thank you and your riding buddies will be glad they don't have to stop all of the time so you can take a "stretch". Thank you for watching and be safe out there!

Hi Carl, do you recommend lubing new cables?

Hello, we do recommend lubing new cables. Some manufacturers may put some kind of lubricant in during assembly, but others do not. So, it is best to just practice doing it just in case they did not.
