This song is perfect to listen to while driving along a highway at night, enjoying the neon blue signs, feeling the freshness of the dew and early morning wind

Yeeeeees!! Only i have slightly different picture - driving on summer night - in beautiful fresh nature, under the stars) but it’s funny that a night trip by car and a fresh wind coincided in our impressions. Amazing song. For the first time, it’s difficult for me to formulate exactly what feeling it gives rise to. But it's a nice feeling
This was the last song on the cassette tape for me. I would listen to the entire album Elemental while going to bed, and when this song came on, I felt like I went through a journey. Roland you took me on a journey back when I was 13 years old. Your songs protected my innocence when all other songs during that time tried to ruin it. Still so glad I bought your tape cassette when I had money from my birthday. Thank you so much man! Through this album I have memories of my grandparents and cutting their lawn. It's amazing what that album is for me.

This album is the next logical step from Seeds Of Love imo. And it's a clear indication of who was the musical genius of the band. Great album that was supposed to be a Roland solo album but at the record label's insistence, released under the TFF name

I am a person who has listened electronic music for 35 years (Autechre, Proem, Etc.). In 1993, "Elemental" came to my hands, and despite the thousand bands that have passed through my ears, I can say that it is the best album I have heard in my life. I wonder if Roland really realizes how important he has been in our lives.

I initially wrote off the Elemental album, as I thought the album would have suffered without Curt Smith. That all being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the whole album. I'm so grateful my uncle introduced this song to me when he suggested a track to start with from the Elemental album.
hi stranger, if you’re reading this. i just wanna tell you that you matter and you’re important ❤ i know you are tired,, but please never give up. okay? i believe you can do it :) and i’m proud of you!! even though i dont know you. always think positive and ignore the negativity that surrounds you. focus on positive side and the things that makes you happy. you are doing great hun. 😙 let’s keep going. we can get through this together. you are worth it. sending virtual hugs to everyone 🥰🤗have a good sleep tonight. tell your loved ones that you love them. sweet dreams my dear~ always smile 😊

What I really love about this song, is the intellectuality of it. It's much deeper than the average person thinks. Being a musician for most of my life, and knowing what it feels like behind the scenes, projects a totally different view than a non- musician perceives it. However, it has different meanings for different people. Roland is an extremely deep and very intellectual guy. His lyrics all have meaning that he shares with his fans, on all levels. ✌🏻😎👍🏻

👍 Great song and 👏 performance in an almost 70 year old’s opinion, who grew up’ when TFF was very popular. TODAY was THE 1st time ever hearing this 🌟 song, and only fairly recently some of their others. IDK why but I seem to appreciate and enjoy their music much MORE NOW than I did back then!

オーザバルひとりになってからのベストトラックの一つ。このアルバムのラスト2曲は素晴らしい。
Saw Roland on the Elemental Tour in Detroit, MI. Bravo to Roland for carrying on the TFF brand through that point in time without Curt.
Here on the stage The time has come With the strains of "Be my angels!", of rock in two four Time may keep alive that old swang song That we've been playing forever Till the time maybe right to say goodbye My voice is aching, I'm tongue tired And the sounds we are making are so uninspired Goodnight song, played so wrong Blame the crowd, they scream so loud, so long Get some honesty Take the best of me and then the rest let go In every situation with it's tireless rage Step outside your cage and let the real fool show I should have stayed round to break the ice I thought about it once or twice But nothing ever changes unless there's some pain And our... Goodnight song, played so wrong Blame the crowd, they scream so loud, so long Goodnight song, played so wrong Blame the crowd, they scream so loud, so long!!!!

Como admiro a esta banda!! Genios!! Roland Orzabal de la Quintana.. Su abuelo era Argentino, de la provincia de Córdoba. Saludos desde Mendoza.
I never forget summer of 2006 with my then-best-friend and when he showed me 'Elemental' album. It was perfect music that caught in me in perfect time of my life. Second side of album with "Fish out of water" , "Gas giants" , "Power", "Brian Wilson salad" and "Goodnight song" exactly in this order, to me, was like a 20-minute suite and i always played it as a 'whole' rather than separate songs . Goodnight song was a beautiful way to end that suite. Like a pillow that awaits you and gives you a rest after great music. We tend to discover great album 'openers' - tracks which are first in order to play. They usually establishing the rest of the album, but we never talk about 'album-closers'. It's an art to close an album in good fashion because that immpression stays with you, and that's the way you remember the album. "Goodnight song" always left me with great humor and smile on my face.
This song makes my heart jump.....
TFF FREEEEEAKAZOID!!!!! ❤❤❤❤ Roland is sooo YUMMY GORGEOUS!!!!! One of my TOP 5 all time FAVORITE songs!!!!! Goodnight Song, Pale Shelter, Advise for the Young at Heart, Everybody wants to rule the world, Creep...I can listen to them over & over & over!!! TFF #1FAN ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nothing ever changes unless theres some pain. Been my mantra for years......
The end track to the greatest TFF album ever
Roland Orzabal, proving once again, as if any proof were needed, that he is a brilliant songwriter, its almost as if he has something that he can tap into, to get the exact right blend of depth, poignancy, sensitivity, catchy song, i personally would put him up there with all great lyricists, & yes he is that gr8, you just have to really listen to his lyrics.
This is one of the most magical, sublime tracks, it's perfection.

This is the number one song in the top list for ALL MY ENTIRE LIFE. As you can see, in my top 100... this song is really the BEST OF ALL!
As others have said, a gem for the ears. The motif of the road and diners is great and makes this a great song for a road trip! Years ago in high school, I always had "Everybody wants to rule the world" follow this song on my many casette tape mixes that I used to convince my friends to head out to the deserts--and to know that "Everybody" was filmed near the Mojave just makes this Angeleno so much happier...

+Jeffrey Pritchard I agree with you Jeffrey. I have seen them perform and it was the momentist (what am I making up a word here?) occasion I recall to date (do you remember Chris?)
My 6 month old daughter loves this song. It's her goodnight song. And Tears for Fears is one of the greatest rock bands ever, imho.
Here on the stage The time has come With the strains of "Be my angels!?, of rock in two four Time may keep alive that old swan song That we've been playing forever 'Till the time maybe right to say goodbye My voice is aching I'm tongue tired And the sounds we are making are so Goodnight song, played so wrong Blame the crowd, they scream so loud, so long Get some honesty Take the best of me and then the rest let go In every situation with it's tireless rage Step outside your cage and let the real fool show I should have stayed round to break the ice I thought about it once or twice But nothing ever changes unless there's some pain And our Goodnight song, played so wrong Blame the crowd, they scream so loud, so long Goodnight song, played so wrong Blame the crowd, they scream so loud, so long
This song gave me strength when I left the hospital, releasing chains that weren't mine to bear. Finally.
Essa música me transmite uma paz imensa, e uma saudade de algo que nunca vivi, não sei explicar. Os caras mandam bem demais. Saudade do TFF

Sinto a paz dos anos 80.
This song makes me think about life, think about who I was and who I can be... It's something inexplicable what it makes me feel

Hermoso el y esa canción más aun, transmite algo muy especial....
When I'm dead I want them to crank this song in my casket.
Worderful song. I think Roland has a very good music but also he has something more. He's a modern poet
My ultimate favorite band since I was 13. Am now 46 and still have nostalgia when hearing Rolands voice.
I remember listing to this song traveling in a taxi from Rio de Janeiro to Makaay, Brazil in 2003, great song and I will always remember it. Going to this offshore rig for journey to Nigeria...love those times and adventures..great memories...

Tears For Fears
Fellow Tears For Fears fans greetings and hope you are enjoying listening to their classics on here as much as me ☺️
I could listen to this song over & Over & OVer & OVEr & OVER AGAIN!!! When this song came out, that what I would do once I pop my CD in the player. Oh & everyone around me had to hear lots of time with me. ;)
I wish we could get off this terrible timeline and time travel back to the 80s. I love this band so much!
