Lyrics:
Baby, don't understand
Why we can't just hold on to each other's hands?
This time might be the last I fear unless
I make it all too clear I need you so, oh
Take these broken wings
And learn to fly again, learn to live so free
When we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up and let us in
Take these broken wings"

It feels like such a privilege to have grown up in the 80s. We may not have had the technology then as we do today, but the music, fashion, and creativity were the best. 🥰

If I could return to the days when I was young and relatively healthy, listening to songs and artists such as this, whilst knowing what I know now, and with today's technology still available to me, I'd probably be (at the very least) one of the happiest people on this Earth... I know its a greedy thing to wish for, and an impossible thing to achieve (as am 70 now!!) But at least I can, and am freely confessing to that impossibility! Thankyou for being here.❤🏴♥️🇬🇧♥️🖖

First time I heard this song on the radio back in 1985 and I couldn't rest until I recorded it. Then listened to it, stopped the casette player line after line so I can put down the lyrics. (Well...it was the 80s... No internet where you can check the lyrics of songs, huh, imagine that.) And my inner voice still starts to sing it whenever it comes on. So glad I grew up in the 80s.

When God speaks to you through a secular song! Love it.
I am realizing that the men and women back in the 80s were so vulnerable about their feelings for one another and showed up in the music. It wasn't called "simping" as it is today. Songs like this need to come back in style! Beautiful song and it is one of my favorites.
@jbloomfield44
7 күн бұрын
You have no idea how simplistic and fundamentally wrong that is......we weren't vulnerable and spewing our feelings everywhere.....that's partly why it was done via music.....simping is a completely unrelated concept mastered by your generation, no self respecting man from the 50s to the 90s would have ever simped, demanded respect without having earned it, put their narcissistic need for self affirmation above others and behaved in the truly self absorbed, juvenile way that the children of the 2000s have......and I think we were much better men for it.

There are so many and there are so many songs. Mr. Mister was my favorite when I was a kid in the 80's, for me to call one of their songs one of the best ever written...
