    I just found ur channel today and i love this space already 🥹 so needed. I am a first time mom but i am 34 and still feel so unprepared because it was an unplanned pregnancy. U give me so much inspiration on teaching my little one and gettingnmore time to bond with her. Thank u! And i love that u are a millenial as well and a woman of color. These things arent encouraged enough in our community and i feel so alone sometimes wanting to fo the most with my childs education.

    I’m so happy you are here! I started sharing and created this space to find more likeminded women and mothers to interact with. Like you said, it seems that these topics aren’t encouraged enough in our community and I would love for that to change. Thank you for this uplifting message ❤️

    Appreciate Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (do a search on google)? It is a great one off guide for teaching children to read without the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my cooworker at very last got astronomical results with it.

    Hi Brittany, I am a soon to be first time father and I have always been inspired by the power of flash cards to help children get a head start in life. At what age should I start to use flash cards on my baby to get her in gear for greatness?

    I have a 10 month old and I definitely want to start this!! As far as showing them the words do we just read the words over and over to them during the day and show them the card? How precise should we be with timing like how long should we stay repeating the words to them during the little sessions

  • @BrittanyKellyTV

    @BrittanyKellyTV

    During a session you should only read through each word once, and that’s all you need. Repeat this 3 times a day. At this age they don’t need a lot of drilling to retain the information like an older child would need.

    Thank you! Pay close attention to where their eyes go first after you ask about the word. Sometimes they just want to grab what they want to grab lol. Also, try to make sure the words are structurally different. Choose words that don’t start the same letter or end with the same letter for a while. See if that helps.

    Hi! I'm finally doing my flashcards! Do you think it's a bad idea to make some of them double sided? For instance, up and down, on and off?

  • @BrittanyKellyTV

    @BrittanyKellyTV

    4 жыл бұрын

    Veronica Lopez That’s a great idea. The only thing is when you decide to teach opposites more thoroughly you won’t be able to play a game with the cards. For instance, you are holding “up” in your hand and you ask them to go find the opposite of up amongst other words.

    I love your tips, thank you. Did you ever try teaching the Chinese alphabet before your kids started school or did you focus only on English and allow the school to teach Chinese? I live in Puerto Rico and my first language is English. I am wondering what to do with my baby girl.

    I have a 10 mont old. How many words should I start with. And should I start alphabet now or later?

  • @BrittanyKellyTV

    @BrittanyKellyTV

    4 жыл бұрын

    Bionqua Blaze You can start with sight words and letter sounds ( the name of the letters are not as important as the basic sounds right now). I showed 5 words about 3 times a day. And about 3 to 5 letter sounds. I usually started with vowel first. Have you seen my other video giving more details? If not, it’s in the description box.
