Taylor has outdone herself with TTPD. I'm right here for it.

the people who are saying things about the 1830s lyric completely misunderstood the entire point of the song i hate it here. first off people always say they wanna go back to the 70s or 80s and people dress up in “decades” but purely for the aesthetic NOT for the values during that time. she clearly clarifies that in the lyrics saying “but with out the racists and getting married off for the highest bid”(women being treated like objects). she says the 1830s purely because she likes the cottagecore type aesthetic. secondly, i interpreted the song like she hates this time and all the times and there’s no good time and there’s always something disappointing and not good about anytime (the line, “cause it wasn’t fun now seems like it was never even fun back nostalgias a mind trick if i’d been there id hate it”)then that’s why she hates it here and she creates her own worlds and stories and like she says in the song, “i hate it here so will go to lunar valleys in my mind..” people are just taking one single line out of context. i really like i hate it here cause it’s just so relatable not wanting to be in a certain place and writing stories to escape. that’s my thoughts

The ONLY people who are thinking about racism are intentionally looking for negative opinions to drag Taylor and diminish her album! Taylor is the person most loved and hated. It is disgusting. I am not reading or looking at things that mention racist about the album. That gives it more clicks so that absurd narrative will be pushed out more.

I saw someone saying that Post is playing both Joe and Matty. When he has tattoos, he's Matty; when his face is clean, he's Joe. And I think it makes total sense, and it helps to understand the story of the MV better.

Post is also Travis at the end when they touched hands he is wearing a plaid jacket and a ring on his finger ( Superbowl ring hint) with a bracelet on his wrist. Taylor also has a a bracelet on hers too when she touches his hand .

ttpd was also released on National Cat Lady Day.

I think in the MV … the typewriter scene is her and Joe, opposite each other, he’s blue, they’re typing I love you and killing each other… then the paper scene is Taylor’s delusional view of their relationship, why the tattoos disappeared, reading the story of us, imagining the love, but then it collapses and she wakes up realising she’s crazy and gets ‘rescued’ by the touch of ‘Matty’ (also played by Post)…. He states he was trying to call her whilst she was depressed in isolation.

Florida!!! Taylor did an interview in the past where she says on Dateline it seems like people who commit crimes and don't want to get caught move to Florida to escape and blend in. I believe she says they buy a car there too. That is the main reason for Florida!!! Escape and blend in like a normal person. The Texas thing is a smaller overall easter egg. Texas and Florida are both big hurricane states. She mentions hurricane in the song, I think. Anyone who lives in a hurricane state knows you are supposed to get in the bathtub because there aren't windows in them. Also, the main bathroom is usually not against an exterior wall. Quite a lot of crazy people(which Florida is known for) have hurricane parties and get drunk. The song mentions drinking wine in the bathtub, the parties aren't in the bathtub though, could be a slight reference, though. Unfortunately, I live in Florida. All the crazy stories you hear about Florida are true. Ethan and Josh's Doctors coats have their names from the Dead Poets Society on them. I think the papers at the end flying around when Taylor has on the beautiful black dress is referring to the manuscript/files going up in flames. All of her past relationships, fueds are gone now. Some of the papers are on fire. They all will turn into ashes, like the Lover House. Just my take. 🫶

Another missed easter egg: the music video for the 1975 song Somebody Else begins with a dazed Matty staring into a mirror rubbing his face repeatedly with a towel set in a black and white film, just like Taylor does in the Fortnight video. The song is about Matty pining over a lover who found a new flame, and came out about 7 years ago - right when Taylor and Joe started dating. Makes me wonder if he wrote it about her?

*Prepare for an indepth analysis because i have IDEAS:* - Fortnight seems to be less easter-eggy and more just taking nods to other songs on the album and other eras where she maybe felt similar. She's been known to have very tumultuous, short-lived relationships where she feels like the other person finally knows her this time and then it ends painfully. This is common in love bombing. They promise you marriage, eternity, the deepest, most passionate love and then they ghost or you have a huge blow up at the end. - To me this song is super Matty Healy coded, especially when with the way she made Post look and ofc the literal black dog referencing The Black Dog song which is another heavily "matty-esque" song in my opinion. The Story of Us book and the silhouette of her face referencing her Speak Now and 1989 eras (between 2010-2014). Taylor does a lot of reflecting on her earlier relationships during this time (Jake, John, Harry) and you can tell with her re-releases it's brought up old feelings and memories such as with the additions of the songs "maroon" and "question...?" on Midnights. To me, it feels like she's making a comparison between her most recent situationship with Healy that went "down in flames" to reference the literal blank space as she's typing "it's rui ning my life" in the Fortnight video. - Also, she's reading Post the 'story of us' in the confines of her mind, and the book is old and tattered. I see this as having to explain to a new partner why you are the way you are, especially if you've experienced trauma. You want them to understand the hurt you've been through so as to hopefully avoid it in the future with this new person - only we all know how that ended. Old habits die screaming. - This is Taylor saying to Matty that he wasn't the brave, handsome, mysterious man that he promised her he'd be. He's just the same as the rest of them. Matty is just another Jake, John, or Harry, men who promised her the world and gave her nothing ("And all of those best laid plans, you said I needed a brave man and proceeded to play him until I believed it, too" - The Black Dog). It also reminds me of that line from her The Chairman poem... "all of my muses acquired like bruises". - Plus, given the timeline of when Speak Now TV and 1989 TV came out, we know Matty was hanging around and then dated Taylor around the time she would have been recording them (SNTV released July 2023, and 1989TV in October 2023). They dated briefly around the end of April 2023-June 2023. Taylor also met Matty for the first time in 2014, which is when 1989 OG was released. Considering the Calvin-Tom-Joe timeline and how confusing that was, it's safe to say that there *may* have been some romantic overlap between Taylor and Matty and Harry (could be a stretch). 1989 OG was widely believed to have been almost entirely inspired by Styles, but looking back, I wonder if perhaps Healy had a short-lived fling with her during the same era, especially since in the 1989 TV vault track "Is it over now" she makes reference to both her and Styles participating in infidelity (or perhaps they were on a sort of break? I think the idea is that swift didn't really know if they were still together or not, as she just up and left him one day after an argument... "I left all alone .... blue dress on a boat"... that's why she has to ask him, is it over now?). And we know from sources and from the two themselves that Matty and Taylor have a long-winded history of will-they-won't-they. Maybe pre-2023, they did. Or almost did. We'll prob never know. - I think at the very least it's safe to say that Taylor was probably noticing the parallels between the heartbreak of the Speak Now and 1989 eras and her romance with Matty, which is largely why I think she references those albums in this video that points a lot of fingers at Matty. - All I know is that from the lyrics of TTPD, Taylor seemed to have pined over Matty for years but either she was dating someone or he was dating someone, or ruining his life with dr*gs (go back and listen to Peter and you'll get it), or she was getting heavily scrutinized by the media and forced into hiding... it just never panned out. Meanwhile, though she built up what their relationship could have been like in her head - another theory as to why she was reading Post (aka Matty) the Story of Us, is because she had scripted everything in her head and was explaining to him how it should play out, and then... it didn't go that way. Taylor has even called herself out as a maladaptive daydreamer in her lyrics, building up stories in her head about a situation instead of facing the truth ("I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror.", "please picture me in the trees," "take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die, I don't belong", and then the entirety of the song on TTPD, I Hate it Here). I think we can all relate to this to some degree. Even at 28 I look back on people I almost dated, paths I could have taken but didn't, and it always made me wonder, what if? ("if you want to tear my world apart, just say you've always wondered" - Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus). Now, I'm happily engaged and have zero interest in rekindling old flames, but I mean if we had a way of KNOWING how it would have gone, like some sort of looking glass into a parallel timeline, don't you think we'd all take a peek? Life doesn't give you certainties, though, so I suppose the ideation of someone is often better than the truth of them. - Matty promised her all the things Joe wouldn't or couldn't give her, all the things all the men before couldn't provide. And then he too fell short. "Smallest man who ever lived", much? I can imagine when he came back on the scene, she was like "FINALLY!!! Someone GETS ME!!" She even compares him to a twin in Down Bad ("like I lost my twin"). Actually, Taylor references twins a few times in other songs, too. Like in State of Grace ("Just twin fire signs, four blue eyes"), All Too Well 10-Minute Version ("And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue?"), and It's Time to Go ("not a twin from your dreams, she's a crook who was caught"). From her lyrics, it really looks like Taylor is *begging* to be understood by someone - *ANYONE* - so much so that when someone comes along who mirrors you (like a twin), it can be so refreshing that it's easy to ignore the red flags. The idea of twin flames in New Age ideology is a bit controversial as well because while lovely in theory (sort of like a more complicated soul mate theory), many use the notion of twin flames to justify and excuse their partner's or crush's sh*tty behaviour. I feel like I might be seeing a theme here. - TTPD is Taylor crying out to be understood but is constantly being defeated by shallow, surface-level people so much so that it breaks her. - TTPD is for the girlies that fall hard, fast, and were told they were too much or too emotional all the time growing up. Taylor has posted: Fortnight music video, I wanted to show you the worlds I saw in my head that served as the backdrop for making this music. Pretty much everything in it is a metaphor or a reference to one corner of the album or another. For me, this video turned out to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it”. - The All White psychiatric ward - tortured with being the perfect TS & being with / breaking up with Joe Alwyn & seeking out Matty Healy. She is handcuffed, driven up the wall wearing her “wedding dress”(That Taylor wore to the 2024 Grammys - where she announced the TTPD album). Taylor removing her “mask” to see the real side of her that has been hidden. A rebel side underneath, hidden relationships, depression - even while touring at The Eras Tour. The medication “Forget Him” delivered upside down but the numbers represent her birth date & the TTPD album launch date. (TS quote from The Eras Tour Melbourne Show 16 Feb 2024. "This album, this new one, 'Tortured Poets,' is an album that I think more than any of my albums that I've ever made- I needed to make it," "It was really a lifeline for me, just the things I was going through, the things I was writing about," "It kind of reminded me of why songwriting is something that like actually gets me through my life." "I've never had an album where I needed songwriting more than I needed it on 'Tortured Poets”. - Then the transition in to The TTPD Typing Room Taylor is wearing her black “mourning dress”. Post Malone (aka Matty Healy) is typing “I love you it’s ruining my life” repeatedly. Taylor is missing “1” key on her typewriter could be a nod to her 'Folklore' tune 'The 1' - now it’s not there anymore. The colored energy touching between Taylor & Post / Matty could be a nod to her lyrics from “Illicit Affairs” in which she sings about her past lover “ showing me colors I can’t see with anyone else”. Then back in the Psychiatric ward, the EEG test results are the lyrics again “I love you, it’s ruining my life” is Post / Matty seeing she still loves him so he “pulls the plug” to save her. 👏👏👏😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯

The last scene on top of the telephone and the bracelet represents how her and Travis started. Bracelet and phone or phone number on a bracelet? Also he comes out of the telephone booth perhaps represents that's how they started - talking on the phone and then he steps out in the midnight rain and grabs her hand like he is going to stand in the rain next her (peace and also an ode to the fishbowl in lover mv). There is a blank space where the 1 is like the commenter says. Travis's fav song is blank space.

It does make sense to make this music a "timeline" between the three men she speaks about in the albuns... First, she is trapped in a ghostly face and a wedding dress and she uses the pill to try to forget Joe. Then, while mourning her past relationship she starts working with Matty, getting closer to him and creating a connection represented by the orange and the blue, and he apparently saves her from her torture, only to leave her in the rain, where she meets Travis who as you said used the phone and the bracelet to connect with her and finally save her from her stormy feelings.

In color theory, orange and blue are directly across from each other on the color wheel (both primaries), making them complimentary colors. Therefore, a good choice for a harmonious piece of art. Just reaching here. :)

I’d like to mention how she references The Bride of Frankenstein which is a story about reviving a corpse and in rep we have “the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now cause she’s dead” and her hair is in the same style as her debut album she’s reviving the old Taylor not to mention the phone booth is both the lyrics in the song and the lyrics in lwymmd

Actually they’re heart beats. The top line are some normal ECG beats but gradually they become irregular and dysrhythmias appear on lower lines as her heart gets broken

Could be both honestly. In the medical world "death" is defined as both loss of brain waves/activity and loss of heart beat. In this case, this relationship was ruining her mentally and metaphorically her heart was breaking.

The first typewriter (a typographer) was patented in 1829. 😊 But I also thought is that there’s a 30 year disparity between 1830 and 1860. She’s in her 30s. Maybe that’s symbolic for her, too.

Well she mentions in her post that the MV has EE pointing to "all corners" of these albums so I think in this instance we're just getting multiple eggs at one time that relate to each other lyrically in her album, but not necessarily historically.

Taylor & Matty's relationship is also very similar to John Lennon & Yoko Ono. John Lennon was the "It" boy of the 60's. He'd been married when he left his wife for Yoko. And they experienced total wrath from Beatles fans very much like Taylor's fans reaction to Matty. Yoko was called "ugly"... "crazy"... etc. No-one understood why the previously clean-cut John Lennon would fall for such an absurd character of a woman at a time when racism & sexism were still very prominent in society. They, too, favored black & white imagery in their art. And there's a very John & Yoko flavored undertone in TTPD. Of course, that could be coincidence as Matty does often work in the black & white "cinephile" aesthetic & is clearly fond of old films. It would make sense that she cast herself as the bride of Frankenstein when her fans pretty much consider him a monster.

There's also a key on the typewriter that says 'Blank Space' up on the top left

The missing "1" is not missing, the lowercase L (l) was used as a one in old typewriter that used an inked ribbon and it was only when typewriters were phased out and "word processors" came on the scene (way before today's keyboards that numeric keys were placed in.

What did the #3s on the typewriters in the Grove pop up mean?

I know most people made the makeup connection with Clara Bow, but honestly I see it more as a mix of that with a ghostly makeup, like the dead people in the black parade from My Chemical Romance. The black around the eyes is more exaggerated and she does mention many times felling dead inside while waiting for Joe.

I think "Florida!!!" will be the next single and video. My evidence: the music in the promo video was from "Florida!!!"

My platlist says the album(s) are 2 hrs and 2 min long. 4+1+9+2+0+2+4 = 22. The fact that it was a "double" or 2 albums was revealed at 2 am. .....Not sure if I'm actually on to something, but 2 is my favorite number so naturally I love the number 22 (because it's two 2's obviously) and so I tend to notice them. Also "2" is actually the "missing" number b/w 1 & 3. Also a stretch but this albums primarily focus on 3 different relationships. 2 is also a number that represents doubles, mirroring, symmetry, "2 halves make a whole,"...just to name a few. Also, probably coincidence, but she announced this album in February which is the 2nd month of the year, and her 11th album was announced at 2am... 11 x 2 = 22 (circling back to the sum of the ttpd release date) and 11 + 2 = 13 (her fave).
