Now this game was always pretty confusing to me, as I’m sure it is with everyone, but a few days ago it struck me: What if this game is a metaphor for a kid trying to escape the control their abusive mother? That’s why this kid’s opening his Christmas present early, that’s why the antagonist is Mama Tattletail, that’s why the game ends when you wake your mom up. And it’s also why you CAN’T wake your mom up until that point in the game. By the time you beat Mama, you’re not afraid anymore.

Tbh the distressed father theory would make sense. If they know that the mother decided to test their toys on the kid, they would obviously get stressed and move away so they can help their kid from the shadows, since the father is literally out of the picture. Plus, in the DLC, I noticed something very odd. The mysterious letter writer said: "I'm glad I'm the person picking this time." What would that mean?

Quick correction, the pentacle/pentagram is not an inherently demonic symbol. It is a pagan symbol which references the connection of the elements to the body and the universe as a whole. It is a religious symbol of most Wiccans, and doesn't actually mean anything negative- the use of it as a representation of evil was an appropriation. The ritual in the game is honestly more akin to a house blessing- a spell used to ward away negative and malevolent spirits.

My take on this game was simply that the kid was being badly abused by his mother, and all of this was some hallucination or nightmare he was having, trying to cope with it.

I don't know if i should be surprised by the game developers making such a hard and original story or by you finding it out and talking about it so normally.

I just noticed that the message on the box "it's for you" (shown as the very last scene of the video) sounds like something someone would say if they pick up a phone and it's not for them. It sounds like they'd shout "It's for you!". Maybe this could be alluding to something even bigger, potentially that the father was also a Waygetter employee and he was telling you that the phone messages were for you. Maybe it's all just in your head the whole game and it's a metaphor for your Mum trying to hunt you down. Any crazy thing could pass for the plot of the game at this point, so who knows, maybe that could even be correct!

Tattletail made me smile when I found it. I was a child in the 90s, and Momma reminds me of the Teddy Ruxpin I had. When Tattletail gets low on battery and starts to say "uh oh" in that slow, distorted creepy way especially did, since that's what Teddy Ruxpin sounded like when his batteries ran down lol.

I think that Momma Tattletail is a representation of our own mom catching us with a present early.

Man, haven't watched game theories and theorists in years. Felt great to watch one.

Another theory for the dlc is that the person guiding the child is his brother who also had a similar experience with the toy but when entering the kaliedascope failed to complete what the child did as he's say he may have better luck than him when you enter the kaliedascope because the pictures in the house show 2 children but only one is present

The Waygetter company sounds just as evil, and dangerous as Joey Drew Studios.

I used to live with a abusive mother, in 2019 I escaped. I was a fan of this game before then and it always creeped me out, but now I know why. I have a THEROY that the mama robot represents the kid's real mum. Maybe the kid was attacked by their mother along with the kids sibling in the photo in their room. EVEN THE TAPE THAT MAMA PLAYS IS TELLING YOU THAT MAMA SCARED HER CHILDREN!! ON TOP OF THAT, your opening up your chrismas present early, and you broke a vase playing with tattle tale before mama attacks. My mother would freak out at me for those things aswell, it's just interesting to see something my past self related to so much.

I like to believe this is like the bad ending situation of the main game. The writer is a future version of the child leaving breadcrumbs. It leads to an infinite loop. The child failed, and the only reason for the notes to be there are because it was the child leaving them. @@mr.boomer8416 maybe the sister died in a accident/incident related to the brother/mother in some way? Hence why she's so vengeful and trying to kill the player (and why mama is located in the mother's room. Probably got to her first and then tries to get to the player)

Mama Tattletail: Is evil, have spooky Childs, want to k1ll the protagonist. Mama Bear: Is evil, have spooky Childs, want to kill the protagonist.

i feel like knowone really fought about the fact that mamas story was also hinting to how to survive her, while also her just telling a story. if your wondering why i think this, this is why- first: "the children thought that mama would never find them as long as she couldn't see them." . mostly this part is portrayed as her children hideing from her. but i feel like this is also hinting towards making sure she doesn't see you when the lights are off. . second: "But Mama could still hear the children. The pitter-patter of their little feet lead Mama right to them." . so this part of her story is normally portrayed as her being able to hear her children, from their footsteps. but i feel like this is also hinting to not running, or making sure tattletail doesn't loose their stuff like hunger battery ect. because if they do, or your running. she can hear you. . final part of the story: "Then Mama found the children every last one and put them right back to bed." . this part is normally portrayed as her oofing her children. or not actually oofing her children. but i feel like this is also hinting to if she hears you, your oofed . yeah i know this game is pretty much forgotten, but i just wanted to mention it.

To put it simply.. Tattletail is a SCP
