Exactly how to prepare ikura I want to know.. thank you for sharing 👍👍
This is the best video on the subject yet. I have mad this a lot of times using the other methods.
Loved your vid! Beautiful colors of raw!
Recipe A) Break it apart - 1:35 1. Open the membrane by hand 2. Pour lots of boiling water 3. Mix well using chopsticks or a rod 4. Membrane should now easily come off 5. When majority of membrane is removed, wash the rest of the off 6. Repeatedly change water and remove floating bits 7. When quite clean, strain the water 8. Keep in fridge for 30 minutes B) Prepare the sauce - 6:05 - 1 : 1 : 1 Cooking Sake, Mirin Sauce, Soy Sauce - Add kombu - Cool it C) Marinade - 7:04 - Add cool sauce to eggs - Refrigerate overnight
I often request ikura nigiri at sushi bars with a raw quail egg (izura no tamago) on top. Pure heaven!
Thank you for great video and instructions, I wondered if the parasite will be killed by the boiled water you pour on the ikura?

Thank you so much for making this video.I have never bought salmon roe myself before and I am searching for any information here on youtube and found yours!Do you think it is okay to eat raw salmon roe selling in supermarkets?or is it safe to eat them as an IKURA?I am little concerning about freshness of supermarket bought salmon roe because it was already out of its membrane and was in clear plastic container.

Salmon has parasite in their belly which mean we had better to care it on salmon roe too just in case. I would recommend you that it should be frozen 48 hours in your freezer before or after making Ikura then you can eat it safety. Have fun your cooking !!

@@fearnot7500 if you freeze fresh salmon roe, it will be destroyed by the expanding ice crystals. I'd suggest just finding it as fresh as possible
How do you get so much salmon roe? I can only find small portions
Thanks for the video. Question regarding the sauce. Do you cook the seaweed after adding the soy sauce?
@coozylifecookingoutdoor6083

It’s not cooked, you can add the dried Kombu seaweed directly into soaking Ikura with sauce. Kombu flavour comes out to sauce while soaking.
How long can you keep it in the fridge for after it's prepared?
how much does salmon roe cost per kg or per lb?
@coozylifecookingoutdoor6083

Nearly $25 for lb with blain (Chum salmon roe), other kind salmon roe should be lower price.
How long can you keep Ikura?

It should be kept less than a week in fridge, but you can froze it with small portions😊
Ikura des ka?
Yuck how could you eat raw fish and eggs!
