The following are comments posted under a discussion that I had about what "true tarot" is. The discussion was precipitated by a perception expressed by some that tarot as they are in the 21st century has in fact been diluted. The comments also touched on another idea which I presented in a video I called "The Ultimate Tarot Is Not To Tarot". I thought these comments are so insightful that they must be more widely shared. --- * "My 2 cents here... Most people confuse the map with the territory. Tarot cards are just maps, some are more direct, some are like tourist maps with sight seeing attractions along the way. But they (mostly) point the same way, more or less. Once you KNOW the tarot, you can throw away all those useless pieces of paper that the people who search for meaning love to collect. I think sometimes the Tarot can absolutely be degraded and corrupted. Perhaps it always has been. Let’s be honest, some of those decks are made by people who have no idea what Tarot really is. They only do it make a quick buck from ‘collectors’ Our materialistic society has recently found something new, the Tarot, to collect and hoard. But then again, I think thats exactly how those old Cartiers did it in the 1700’s. They mass produced decks for casinos and gambling dens. Did Nicolas Conver or Jean Noblet have any understanding of what Tarot meant, or were they too just trying to make a quick buck, selling out to gambling dens? So, actually I think mainstream decks are corrupting it, but then perhaps again the Tarot has always been like this." [...] "There is a very specific reason why Buddha, Pythagoras and the allegory of Jesus never wrote anything down. Ultimate Truth is intangible. It exists on the archetypal plain along with Plato’s forms (which he admitted he got from there). However, this never stopped religious organizations, groups and individuals (or Tarot card makers for that matter) from dressing it up and prostituted for cash. We are all guilty of this to some degree. I know I am. Any attempt to bring this Ultimate Truth down to our corrupted worldly level with always be make it corrupted. It’s like a photocopy of a painting of a real scene that the artist saw. A copy of a copy of a subjective personal experience. MY TAROT COLLECTION LIQUIDATION Instagram @MyCollectionForSale Phase 1: July 2020 Phase 2: August 2021 Phase 3: 2022 (No promises. Judging from phase 2, at this point it might be cheaper for me financially and mentally to simply donate them all to our local charity). I trim my collection regularly. Feel free to check out my playlist on that. (Emotional Conditioning and Decluttering). But this time, I am not just trimming the branches, I am selling the whole orchard. Bit, by bit. The process of selling is more taxing than I had anticipated. So I can't spend too much time on it and will only be doing short bursts of sales for every layer of collection I am liquidating. I have started with the ones I definitely don't want around anymore, progressively into the core of my collection, which are harder to let go. (I have spoken at length as to why this enforced liquidation only applies to my tarot collection, and not my other collections such as books, art, and antiques, shoes and handbags, glasses and pens. Once again, feel free to search for that video yourself). Having said that, many of you have contacted me with offers I could not refuse, and a lot of my very important tarot which were scheduled to be liquidated in the last phase, have been sold this way, much much earlier. An example is my dear Tarot of Delphi. A very important tarot in my exploration of the art of tarot. A very personal one. It formed the way I used tarot for years after. Yet. Saying goodbye to it felt right. Thanks again for your support over on IG.

UPDATE 20 AUG 2021 PHASE 2 is now done. Thank you everyone. Phase 3 is projected to be in 2022. But I will not make any promises. Because of the nature of my collection and how I have decided to progress my liquidation towards a "deeper" layer my tarot collection with each phase, the gap between the space I am operating in as a seller and the spaces in which those looking to buy are coming from, felt increasingly larger. This appears to have resulted in an ever increasing mental taxation for me. The law of diminishing returns is ever looming when seen from this perspective. So I might decide next year (or this year) that at this point, it is cheaper for me, both financially and mentally, to donate the rest to a local hospice shop instead. While what I consider to be the crown of my collection will be revisited when I turned 60. (Please note that "bargain working decks" are not, and will never be, part of my liquidation efforts. Boxes of those have all been given away and donated to charity. Shipping from New Zealand is AT LEAST approximately USD $50. I'll let you do the math. I will also not give away internationally anymore. Even if you pay full costs of shipping, each of them take a fair bit of my time and mental space, and they do add up).

Wow what an impressive cull. Congrats on sorting through it all, it must have been a momentous (and emotive) task. Hope you have many new and lovely adventures :)

Hey Candy. KZread often unsubscribe people I am not sure if that’s a by product of other changes they seem to be constantly making as they move further and further away from creators like us to more corporate ones like music labels 💀 This is a fraction of what I used to own and also a fraction of my collection. A lot of which have been move to a storage space 🌷 Welcome! At the moment, to be honest, the direction of this channel is unclear 😂 But you are welcome for the ride as it self destructs 🔥🔥🔥

Hello. This is an older video and I’ve retired this channel for the moment so I won’t be producing anymore tarot content. I was going to go through this collection but it didn’t work out that way due to personal circumstances and I am not likely to.
