Absolutely insane! The control to continuously reset the ball out of the fire fights was incredible. The cover for the 3rd ball out of the speed ups from both Daescu and Tardio really set them apart. Both teams displayed a high-level of play and put on a performance.

Tardio Daescu is my favorite team I’ve watched play so far. So much finesse and power, it’s insane. Watching this match was fantastic, love that the audio was in synch, camera angle was solid, and quality was good. Finally getting your stuff together PPA tour! I’m excited to see how competitive pickleball evolves.

Didn’t drop a game until the finals! Insane run for sure. Ran into a brick walll in the finals though but incredible nonetheless

I've never been very high on Newman (admittedly bias since I dislike is antics). He's clearly talented but I think the novelty of his play style with the extreme two handers is his main upside. Top pros get use to it and adjust (the John's bros especially). His lack of overhead and forehand power hurts him to much I think. Wilson on the other hand I love to watch, what a great player.

Yeah, I think Wilson and Newman could be the best team if Newman was a better partner. He doesn’t instill confidence in Wilson so if he’s off he’s probably going to play worse. Plus with the both being able to play both sides they could definitely confuse a lot of people.

Playing with Newman is a curse. Feel bad for Wilson.

Wilson needs to play with someone else. I think he is better than Newman, but Newman thinks he owns the courts.

So fun to watch!! Especially having some different men in the top and playing at this caliber. Am I the only one who doesn’t like the net camera? It’s the worst way to watch a hands battle IMO.

Newman kept getting burnt cheating over…and Tardío with those speed ups are insane…this is the team to watch

Yeah and I love it that he’s not a showboater. I realize everyone’s different and that a lot of people think pickleball needs to have “characters” and all, but for my money, give me solid players without the commensurately huge egos. Andrei’s a great case study for anyone - won’t name names - who needs to dial back their antics.

Newman paddle tapping might be the strangest part of this tournament

Didn't realize how good t & d would be here. T's hands are as almost as fast as jw. Newman needs to relax a bit to play better.

Riley's technique drives me batty. I can't figure how someone with such odd strokes managed to stay near the top of the game this long. Wilson is good! Tardio & Daescu should play more together, IMO.

Daescu and Tardio played extremely well. It was quite offensive and irrelevant whenever the commentator kept calling them Romanian and Bolivian. What value does it add by emphasizing their ethnicity when their athleticism and professionalism matter most?

I think the commentator is just used to most athletes in the sport being American since it started in the US and is excited to see professional competitors from other countries stepping in.

This tourney was wide open for Newman and Wilson. Their nemesis the Johns were gone and still they lose… Maybe they are not as good as we thought.

Well, tardio and Daescu have been on fire, finishing most matches in two games, even against the John's. I think Newman and Wilson will put it together this year at some point.

I don't know if you really believe that, Daescu is a criminally underrated player who shows himself constantly in the APP and Tardio is a rising star who beat Staksrud a while back. Newman and Wilson played great, But Tardio and Daescu just played better this tournament

@@TooHonestButtTrue I think Newman is doomed for second place, not Wright not Alshon not Wilson. He's always a runner up. You're right in that respect. On paper this was a clear win, but they couldn't shake it.
