Virginia Wynette Pugh, known professionally as Tammy Wynette, (May 5, 1942 -- April 6, 1998) was an American country music singer-songwriter and one of the genre's best-known artists and biggest-selling woman singers.
Wynette was sometimes called the "First Lady of Country Music", and her best-known song, Stand by Your Man, was one of the best-selling hit singles by a woman in the history of the country music genre. Many of Wynette's hits dealt with classic themes of loneliness, divorce, and the difficulties of man-woman relationships. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Wynette charted 23 No. 1 songs. Along with Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, Wynette defined the role of women in country music during the 1970s.

it's her signature vocalization when cuts off the end of the note, "your", and the last word, "man", is two syllables. Gotta-be Tammy Wynette! Never tire of hearing it.
Dottie West, Tammy Wynette, and Loretta Lynn left us much too soon. But their music always live through me and all the rest of their fans as well. I miss all three of them.

@@julienicolazzo5145I think it was Billy Sherrill's idea. He was the producer that gave Tammy her break. He liked her dressed head to foot in this supposedly virginal stuff, and we were supposed to get the impression she was totally prim and proper,until she got between the sheets with that man she was standing by....at which point we were supposed to imagine she went totally wild. I have no idea if it worked. She did sell a lot of records,but then she did have a colossal voice.

Yes she did, but no doubt her and George Jones are together again enjoying their much-deserved peaceful eternal life in Heaven. Her last husband didn't get away unscathed with all he put her through, he might've in this life, but not after.

Reason i ask is because on my channel i posted a video containing my favorite live performance of Tammy singing SBYM and received a copyright claim from some company. It's all so confusing to me.
