The red body rocks, if it were mine I would keep it red. But, you do have a good eye so I guess we have to wait and see what you decide.

Yeah agree metallic black with a Top Force wing would look Epic!!!!!! I think you have my problem l have just done my BigWig tyre lettering and boy its getting harder these days lol bad eyes and trouble keeping a steady hand is tough now! I am only 46 years young too but the last few years have taken there toll!!👋 but tyre lettering is a must for sure! I like window nets but good call on that better without! The only thing is those spot lights...not a fan of the black lights with the red body but if you decide to go all black it could be all good then! Great this hobby mate! You are playing around with your HotShot and l am playing around with my BigWig! Happy days!!! Keep safe though buddy Cheers James.

The JG dart body in black with silver hotshot decals with an Optima mid wing would look epic. The last JG dart body you did looked way better than the standard hotshot body. Almost the way a Hotshot should look. Loving this car nice to see something a little different from the box art build.

Looks sharp without the body, with the narrow black chassis, and no wing. If its mine, I'm leaving the body off, wrapping the chasis in black carbon fiber, and a smaller wing in either red or black. Again, thats if it were mine. Thank you for sharing your project with us!

Looks like the “Fox” driver.. coolest idea.. now you have me wanting to trick out my “Hot Shot” II.. love the duel front setup..,you have to go brushless with this beast.. it’s screaming for a 3800 kv Castle and a 3 cell.. just upgrade the transmission before you do lol.. awesome buddy.. you did a JG Dart body a whilst ago and I think that body was made for this killer..

I had shock limiting cables on my old baja 5b that worked a treat. Pretty easy to make with some picture wire with some heat shrink over them and a couple of loop connectors on each end 👍🏻

I remember seeing on eBay, those Hotshot alloy arms but wasn’t interested at the time. Looks great. I finished a hotshot yesterday. I painted it blue. Looks cool with the contrasting red parts. Did a wheelie with it on my carpet and when it landed the front shock fell to bits. I also painted a red stripe down the drivers helmet. Looks so cool but didn’t realise you can’t see it when the roof is on.

You have just created the sexiest Hotshot. Yet as you said it could get sexier. I'm personally not much of a fan of black buggies apart from wheels as some black wheels can "pop" a color scheme. A gold body would be nice to see. Gr8 work on the driver, looks 100% better. Honestly whatever color scheme you go for will be good to see. Can't wait for the rear end issue vid be very interesting to see what the problem/ damage is & seriously hope it's nothing major. My Boomerang rear end had a similar noise but was just dirty grease from too many puddles & dirty water getting in. The down side of H2o proof esc & brushless 🤣🤣

I agree, hydro dip a carbon fibre transfer. Would be an innovation for the Chanel as haven't seen anyone else do it on RC bodies.

Also saw on Tamiya Club someone has made an F1 Lotus style shell for a dark impact. Black with gold decals, looks really good

Hey I like what you are doing. I would go for a stealthier look, if you use a self etching primer on outside of polycarbonate body you can spray a really dull or rubberised finish. I would trim as much as you can and have just the minimum of body, and then do to the rear wing what you did to the roof.

If you do go darker Still need elements of the red on there for definite 😁

Yes, matte black with minimal gold decals would look awesome

If you take a small brush and paint black all around the driver (gloves, arms, back) it will look much more realistic and clean. Just let the brush slide exactly in the middle of the transition from the horizontal platform to the vertical driver. If the driver gets painted black up to 1mm above the platform, that is totally fine and will give it a realistic 3-D look.

Glenn, Perhaps you can use lacing cord (thin flat black string that is used on aircraft wire bundles) to secure the roof and the netting too if you want. This way you dont have tie wraps sticking out, like they do.. i can send you a bunch as i have a few rolls from years of working on private jets.

The red looks great. But a bigger wing and maybe doing the bars in back in aluminum to match the front bar would balance it out nicely. The stealth idea is fantastic but that buggy has Soo much going on it would be a shame to make it harder to see all the details. Unless you two toned it with the frame bits dark silver and the body bits in a flat black.... Sounds fun no matter what! Happy r c ing!!!

You could use the pen spring mod that the crawler boys use and mount a section of pen spring below the piston of the shock,to limit the droop.

Can you not get the shell dipped in gloss carbon fibre, would look great imo..great hotshot Glen.

Just come across your channel - good to find a UK RC channel but saddened you don’t have a review of The Hornet - one of the original RC cars!

Glenn, this is the best looking buggy I have seen, to me its better looking than topforce`s and Avante`s. Do not know about handling but look wise this can not be beaten from any brand. Would love to get one looking the same.

How about trying carbon wrap on the grey bar between the front shocks too to compliment the roof, which looks really cool btw mate. To answer your question and give my opinion, a new body and wing done in a dark or gun metal grey would be amazing. If you did them in black you'd lose a lot of definition and contrast between the pieces making it harder to see the cool shapes of the body and chassis.

Another point is any black in the decals will be lost on a black background but I do agree that a dark body would look badass and stealthy which is why I think gun metal grey is a good idea. Look forward to seeing what you decide to settle on. That's the best HotShot I've ever seen mate.
