    How come you don't offer a gearbox case with larger hole for this MIP ball diff? So no needed to drill holes on the stock ABS gearbox case. Also, nylon Is more solid than ABS for suspension mounting issue

    The case would cost upwards of $250 for the print.

    Great instructional video! The Hotshot is one of my all time favorite RC cars ( I'm kinda addicted to em' ) and cant wait to see how it performs. I wouldn't hesitate to put this on my Re-Release, but couldn't bring myself to hacking into a MK1 :)

    Those expensive but second to none MIP Hotshot diffs, should of been fitted to a new rerelease Hotshot or Super Hotshot, BigWig & Boomerang buggies. Not a brittle 35 year old vintage Hotshot! I would like to see a brushless MIP Hotshot or one of the other buggies above.. In a running Video 😊

    Well, I liked the comic relief you inserted here and there at the HotShot’s expense 😝, 2-3 weeks to tear down, I could do it in about 10 minutes. The drilling scared me to death though, have to admit that. Good to see “ole 62” is still kicking, even if it doesn’t have its lid 😱. Is it just me or did the one bearing on the front gearbox not seat all the way in?? It looked a little off

  • @AMPROEngineering

    Hmmm, maybe I didn't push it in all the way for the video. They are all seated though. Yeah the car is back and alive again!

    Great video, very good explanation of all the steps for installing the MIP diffs. I know I'm a little late to the party, but I just bought an MIP diff set for my re-release Super Hotshot, and so far I've built both diffs and installed the rear one. I noticed that there's quite a bit of play in the rear dogbones, enough to make them slide up into the diff outdrive and bind a little when the suspension is decompressed. Should I be fitting an o-ring in the diff outdrive in this case?

  • @AMPROEngineering

    @AMPROEngineering

    3 жыл бұрын

    I am assuming you installed the MIP bones right? If so, yes, add an o-ring on the diff side but ensure there is no binding.

    Hi your videos are very informative! I have a question...I’m getting ready to start the hotshot build and while studying the assembly manual I notice there’s a washer that is marked as “B6” on page 5 step 5. I don’t see it listed anywhere in the parts pages located at the end of the manual. Would you be able to help me figure this out?

  • @AMPROEngineering

    @AMPROEngineering

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hmmm, B6? Well it tells me it is on the "B" Tree right? ISomeone asked me to 3d print some a while ago but when I built the last 2 from the MIP diff build, I did not even use any of them. Here is the part I made but Ill need to find out where they go. The FB hot shot group is a great place to look. www.shapeways.com/product/64GPBBWHU/047003-01-hotshot-b6-disc-spacers?optionId=65699041

    If I were to buy a re release hotshot or bigwig and power it with a mild brushless, just as a car to have fun with, no track racing, would there be any reason to get one of these diff sets? Btw, a thoughtful and educational video as always.

  • @tairikuookami4949

    @tairikuookami4949

    6 жыл бұрын

    The base kit is set up for a Tamiya GT Tuned motor at best, if you want a brushless setup no matter how mild I'd get the diff, brushless motors just have so much more torque. If that diff is anything like the super ball diff for the Blackfoot it's going to be awesome!

  • @AMPROEngineering

    @AMPROEngineering

    6 жыл бұрын

    The main reason for this is to tighten up the open diffs. These cars are bad in turn when the inside wheel unloads and all the power goes to them making the car basically stop in its tracks. This eliminated that! Even with no track racing you will love the set. Thank you so much for your kind words Nick.

    I'm getting ready to buy a hot shot original found in a basement by somebody that doesn't know what it is. What is a fair price to offer for a unrestored, front broke a arm missing lights. Basically what's a fair price to give? And I do need an answer by tomorrow.Thank you for your time.
