The best recorded video for Tamu Pancake, ideal, excellent sound, nice background, all in all for 10. This video really shows how good Pancake is for those sizes, even if Remo Ambassador had been sprayed on it, the sound would be even better.

@@DrumsBonedo Great text, everything nicely explained, the drum is first of all easy to transport, it is made for small coffee shops, garden coffee shops... My recommendation is, take the Tama Pancake with Tama classic 8kg stands, instead of a kahon or an electronic drum.

Great for practise and small gigs. Have ordered one as a second kit.

The drum is excellent, and most importantly, it is easy to transport, and even if you buy Tama stande classic 8kg, it is a complete hit. It is intended for drummers who play often and have to constantly fold and unfold the drum. You will make the same money with this drum and a 20x16 drum, and you will not have a problem with transportation. My recommendation, along with this drum, take the Tama club jam with kick 18x12 for bigger gigs because it is also easy to transport. Cheers.

If you need a compact kit and this one sounds little too small and thin and you need more beef and volume in a compact kit, I highly suggest the Tama superstar neo-mod kit. It’s absolutely amazing for a small little compact kit and gets pretty damn loud and super easy to set up and transport and still comes with the Tama hardware and they even give you a Tama star bass drum mounted Tom mount and Tama starclassic bass drum spurs. It’s more expensive than this but you get what you pay for. They have different sizes as well from 22x10 bass drums or 20x10 bass drum, the rack tom is hyperdrive size which is 12x7, and then the floor Tom is a 14x9.

Loved the idea of an easy to transport set of drums, but in the end the sound just wasn't there for me, except for the snare, I liked that quite a bit! And the finish looks great in person too. I traded for a Yamaha Stage Custom Hip and have been much happier with it. Not as compact, but still easy to haul and I like the sound better.

Damn, sounds very good. Great drumming man. I have the Tama Jam Club series, and it isn't near this good. I might need to replace the heads and tune.

How is the volume? I'm looking for a kit that has lower volume so we can play in small spaces and backyard parties or even indoor parties. Is this it?

Will that Bass Drum hold up to strong double pedal practice? Would love this kit for a practice set if the BD Feels solid for some strong playing. Looks like it's great for soft practice.

Do you recommend drilling a hole in the bass drum, or is it better to keep the bass drum "closed" (without a hole) ? That is, does it provide more depth and volume when the bass drum is open or closed?

I have the same question! Would be a great addition

I have one of these kits and love it-the only problem I’m having is getting sufficient bottom end out of my kick drum. I added a Kick Port which helped some, but not enough. And yes, I know I shouldn’t expect too much as it’s about 3 inches deep. But maybe someone can suggest a tip?

I would use the bass drum with an unported resonant head, also tuning-wise, try to bring both heads to some / equal tension. Whenever i use such a small and shallow kick, I think more in terms of the bass drums of marching bands, than a regular set bass drum, that I would use in rock or pop styles.

Are the toms available separately?

They do not produce a champagne one any longer, do they?

High tuning: pretty good - exept the bigger tom. Thats a weak spot
