Hands down one of the best ever. So down to earth. And had a real love of the watches not just some brand

Definition of 'modern' 1. Aesthetically beautiful 2. No superfluous design 3. High functionality 4. No ego in design

I love this guy. Though he can afford to buy any watch he wants (and he has some pricey ones), he sticks to great design and what he likes.

Great. The only thing I didn't love about this episode was that I always dreamed that I might be the first guy who turned up with with a bunch of vintage Seikos on Talking Watches.

Probably my favourite interview. He truly believes in what he says, unlike a few other people who bought all Grails because they were told so. I must find out more about this guy! His explanation is Fascinating!

So refreshing to see a collector having lower end watches but having same passion.....its not the price it's the DESIGN....awesome...

I love seeing a guy with bucketloads of money not care if he’s wearing a Seiko or a Daytona. So refreshing and a guy I would like to hang out with!!

This is one of the most meaningful episodes. A person who takes pride in his Seiko and not just shows off his AP or Patek. this made me respect John Edelman a lot more!

I had a chance to work very closely for many years with Johns father Arthur Edelman John saying he was cool was an understatement he was a great man and with his guidance and the guidance of Johns mother Teddy created the nicest Leather in the world!!

What a refreshing collection. Great color, retro designs. Very nice to see Mr. Edelman collect those pieces which fill his heart or bring him joy rather than worrying about projecting power/wealth. Those durable, die hard pieces of his might mirror his character. Which is a great compliment.

Nobody knows this guy, not a celebrity, and he comes on in all modesty and absolutely crushes it. He knows what he’s talking about, he gets what he likes (not just what’s popular), and has a true passion for the game. Loved it from top to bottom. Plus, he lives in the town next to me.

True collector has their own definition of perfectness.

First time I see a Seiko 5 (or any Seiko) on these series. More important,the guy buys and wears his watches because they love them and love the design. He doesn't have to justify why is he wearing a relatively cheap watch (like that guy who talked about the Swatch Sistem51).

What a great collection. John Edelman has a clear design point of view and personality and it is communicated in his watch choices.

This is THE best talk Ive seen yet. He loves watches for their design and style not just monetary value, inspirational stuff.

I love people's reaction to seiko! Today I had 2 people say my watch is nice and looked at it. When I said it was the SLA017 and GS a seiko o saw kind of shock i their face. People associate seiko with cheap quartz and usually don't give them the time of day. Love Seikos especially diver pieces

I had a customer compliment my SBDX017. He wears a sub and I handed him my watch. He was so impressed with how well it was made when he noticed it said “Seiko” on the dial he had a hard time believing it. We spent the next 30 minutes on his computer in his office looking at JDM seiko models. It was awesome! Seiko is, hands down, my favorite watch company.

One of the best business interviews I've watched. So many clues and it's not even about business.

Good stuff... Love to hear different approaches to understand and appreciate watches.

I really liked that episode. He clearly knows about design but he still has his own taste and his own personal appreciation for the watches. He doesn't buy them because it's THE patek X oder THE Rolex Y or because it's a particularly rare or sought after piece. He buys them because they are great designs and thats exactly the point of what he says in the end. You will probably never see this guy wearing an Hublot but he rather goes for a Seiko simply because it is the better design.

very cool. I like to see watch collectors that not only dig the watches for their reference numbers or different this or that on the dial, but instead dig the watcher due to their beauty. Its supposed to be about what moves you and nothing better to move people than beauty.

Agreed. When I watch these I always get a little anxiety that I can't quote the reference numbers or give detailed history lessons but I can tell a cool story about how I ended up with the watch and why I love it.

Love this episode... a genuine guy who values even cheaper pieces with sentimental value to him. Always nice to dream of pateks and vacherons, but having a reality check of pieces i will be able to reach one day is refreshing.
