What’s happened to talking strongman ?
Phil winning 5 events in a row in the final the year he won will forever go down as one of the most DOMINANT finals performance by an athlete EVER. What a beast of a man.

I was going to say this. My favourite final because he looks like he's done after the first 2 events, then just turns it on. What's more amazing is he did exactly the same in the heats that year. What a champ.

This was really great. Talk about doing it the hard way with a full time job, no training partner and getting the better of the great Mariusz.
"I only let go of the handles when I ran out of sh*t to say" 😂
Watching Mariusz' reactions to Phil's performance was great. He could not believe how well Phil did, especially on the car carry. Such an impressive performance.

How chill and mellow is that dude?
I feel like most athletes and viewers want to see more natural stones. It's just the most iconic thing for strength sport in general imo.historically man vs stone has something very special about it and I hope to see more of it in the future. A raw test of strength and creativity, with a lot of potential surprises in the results

I agree. The natural stone events at the Arnold’s get amazing views compared to some of the others. People obviously want more.
Wanted this interview for a while, other interviews I'd like to see and I'm sure others would: Andy Bolton Glenn Ross Darren Sadler Peter Bremner Dale, 3d strength Rob Frampton Dan Hipkiss Tom Hibbert Great channel Loz, been a god send in 2020 for all us stuck at home and I don't think you even realise how much of a positive impact this content has had in what's been a hard year.

Phil is one of my fav strongmen of all time. his 2006 performance was legendary
I'd like to see an interview of Glenn Ross aka Big Daddy he's done so much for the sport in Ireland an UK with events too getting new competitors into the sport
Phil Pfister's 06 final run was legendary! A man standing 6'6" weighing 375lbs moving as fast as he did was extraordinary!
I loved that Hercules Hold moment. Absolute legend of the sport! Big Phil is the nicest and most genuine person and he seems like a good guy to be around.
I'm so happy you got Phil Pfister on Talking Strongman. Hes been my idol for a long time, having grown up in Charleston West Virginia.

Thank you Loz for this excellent interview with Phil Pfister. His win over Mariusz in 2006 was absolutely epic!
5 straight wins in the 06 finals to win the title. Such dominance. Never see that dominance again ever. Sure guys can win by a lot of points, but to win 5 straight finals events out of 7. Totally awesome. Cheers to you and Liz on your channel.
Phil is a legend!!
Hardly looks any older than when he won WSM. Go Phil!
One of the best chats yet, Phil needs no questioning he can just talk and talk. Great to see an insight to the guys I grew up watching on TV. Seems like a genuinely top bloke. 💪👌👍
Phil has become one of my favorite old school strongman. Just because one of the older guys in my gym used to train with Phil and tells me all sorts of stories about him.
Phil categorises Strongman perfectly 👌
I couldn't wait for this. One of best memorys.. Phil Fister winning WSM is one of them. I do BB but love Strongman and watching it too. Beating unbelievable competition too and bringing the title back to the USA after a long time.
Always came across as a wholesome guy, nice to see he's doing well
Phil deserved to Win in 2006 he dominated WSM that year .
Much love for Phil he is a super chill guy. I would also love to see him on a skateboard! Worlds strongest skateboarder.
Nice hearing these stories about Brian Siders, he was always great fun to watch at the Arnolds. You had your strongmen powerhouses like Zydrunas and Vasyl, then someone like Brian would compete or Glenn Ross would press overhead with zero leg drive and turn the odd event into a spectacle. Brian probably would've made a great armwrestler too had he chosen too, I remember him being interviewed by Greg Valentino and Greg's hand just disappears into Brian's when they shake.
Fantastic Loz , love Phil such a humbling chap ..
Phil was always one of the friendliest and humble strongmen
Used to bring Phil to one of my shows almost every Fall for many years. Absolutely terrific guy to have at a show. Great on the mic, great with people, easy going, and an intelligent guy.
Another great interview. Phil is still a very humble guy.
As for Big Z, Phil has it spot on, if you look back, he lost or didn’t win so many competitions, but boy did he learn from experience
Loz, please get an interview with Jouko. I bet he would have some great stories and I would love to get some insight into his strong mindset.
I am still hero struck by Phil. 2006 was the first time in my life I got to see an American win WSM. His declaration in the heats during the Hercules Hold as awe inspiring, and he delivered. God Bless you Phil. 2006 still a personal favorite.
Haven't aged a day, Phil Pfister. Such a nice soul
Absolutely love and appreciate these talks with previous generations of strength athletes. You are the only one who gives these athletes form whom we all owe so much a platform. Would love to see the Gillingham brothers who have got to be one of the strongest families in history. Thanks again
This is one I’ve been keen to see. And it didn’t disappoint. Great humility and that’s always been very easy to warm to.

Absolutely! More old school unconventional feats as well. I’m a bit sick of deadlift and log press.
Brilliant, been waiting for this. True legend of the sport.
I've often wondered what became of Phil. This was a great episode Loz, keep em coming!
big Phil. What a great guy. Excellent video, Uncle Loz
Oh! Now this is one hell of a Saturday!!
Probably best interview yet. Brought back a lot of memories for some reason.
I've gotten much enjoyment watching his era, and Kaz', and Cleve, and Stefan, and Magnus, and Raimonds, and Mariusz, and Big Z, and Loz, and Brian, and Eddie, and so on, just a captivating sport that hasn't yet gotten it's due. The cost/prize ratio is ridiculously low
I've been waiting for this one! 😊😊😊💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Phil, you're a true legend of the sport. You're authentic, down-to-earth, highly intelligent/articulate, easy going and funny. People might have mistaken your confidence for arrogance back when you competed, but the truth is, you just believed in yourself, which unfortunately is a rare trait. I have nothing but respect and admiration for what you have accomplished. Thanks for the years of entertainment Phil!
Wow! Nice surprise drop for a Saturday evening. Nice one Loz
This is awesome Loz 👊
Thank you for everything you do Loz. Another amazing episode :)
This is one podcast I'm going to have to give my undivided attention to. Keep them coming "Larry Baby".
Great watch
Talking about how good Brian was at static events. I'd be interested in a top 10 list of greatest static lifters of all timr
That 2006 WSM is still one of the best shows i ever seen
Great interview! Thank you
Another incredible interview loz.
YES great to see you interview Phil. awesome
Really entertaining interview from Phil. This was a great listen!
Yes! Big Phil!
Great interview!
I like him even more after this interview!
So glad Phil made good on his promise to win WSM one thing I like about you Loz is you're not afraid to correct anyone (even a WSM) if they get a fact wrong or whatever it's a good thing to do it shows you are passionate about what you do :-)
Fantastic interview Loz please keep the amazing content coming, good luck and God bless mate 🙏👍
Phil Phister first USA winner since Kaz, very self depreciating but a true strongman. Interesting to hear Fleming Rasmussen get a shout, great shoulder strength, and former 10 Pin Bowling champ.

Class you see that bit of strongman fire pop up during the conversation 💪😏
Thanks for this, Loz. Pfister is my all time favorite.
Great interview! Really enjoyed watching Phil back in the day, I remembered him being such a beast at Fingal's Fingers during those days.
This might have been my favorite one of these. I had to go find the 06 WSM final on youtube. Keep these coming Loz! I like the mix of young and up and coming guys, as well as guys I grew up watching.
GREAT INTERVIEW!
Thanks for the interview Loz. It was great to catch up with Phil and see how he's doing. I hope he makes a comeback.
Brilliant, gentle giant, could of listened for hours
Awesome video. 👍💪
Two of the greats just having a chat. You can't go wrong. Love the content as usual Loz keep it coming bro. Can't wait for your chat with Kaz!!!
Thank you loz for this. A true pleasure to catch up with Phil. Loz, you was one of my favorites to watch by the way.
Really great chat with Phil, like a couple old mates having a yarn. Good on ya loz.
I really enjoyed this interview. Thank you.
I'm soo Glad you have Big Phil on! His win was one of the biggest comebacks and wins ever! LEGEND!
Amazing interview! Phil talking about Strongman and it being about the struggle really hit the mark. Now I know I have to compete when things are good again. Thank you Loz, love that you give us these gems.
Was so happy to see fellow West Virginian fulfill his destiny and win 2006 Worlds Strongest Man. After the car walk that was it. Thank you Phil for such a great memory, and thank you Loz for another great video and your commitment to strongman.
Finally!
Great Interview Loz
Awesome stuff Loz. The way this sport has grown over the years I think Phil Pfister coming out and being a part of the new generation stuff would be awesome even if its holding a mic and talking to folks. There really isn't enough coverage of the sport and bringing back the older Athletes would be awesome. Your voice and relevance is just important today as it was back when you were competing.
Yes, fking love it ! One of the most impressive win in WSM history !
I remember watching that when Zydrunas had the stone fall back with him.
WSM 2006 is still my favorite to go back and rewatch. Watching Phil dominate the guy called THE DOMINATOR was so cool!
I absolutely loved watching Phil completely own that stone pressing event in 06.
Great interview! What a character with a good heart. I am a huge fan of Pudzian, but can’t stopping smiling when he beat him in the atlas stones and did the famous scream: yeahhh! Yeahhhhh!!!
Great to see Phil 😁 his speech telling everyone he would win WSM still inspires me today 😎👍☝️
I love the history great interview.
Wouldn't have thought of Phil as an interview subject but having watched this its now one of my favorites that you have done so far, cheers Loz. Ps would also love to see Glen Ross👍
He was a worthy winner. I remember watching him and was just thinking wow.
excellent.
BIG PHIL!!! WSM 2006
Awesome interview. Loved watching Pfister back in the day. He does not get the credit ge is due. He even beat prime Marius once.
Wow! What an awesome interview. As an American and a strongman fan since the late 70s, there was a long drought to endure of American winners of WSM. Phil seemed to be the catalyst for a resurgence of American wins. His 2006 win was incredible and came against a competitor in Marius who seemed unbeatable. Please have Kaz on and thanks for what you’re doing.
My favourite strongman 😎
awesome
