Arm breaks aren’t as bad as they look normally. The bone heals stronger, and much quicker than a tendon or muscle injury

@@Todzil Yeah I snapped my radius+ulna years ago and it was healed in 4 weeks. Took another few weeks after the cast came off to develop the forearm muscle back, but apart from that I had zero issues. Lifted weights on it with no bother for years. It hurt like hell, but of all the things you could break those two bones are probably some of the least serious. I imagine a femur or tib/fib break would be horrendous.

@@IosifStalinsendsyoutoGulag I had two hairline fractures on L5. It was diagnosed incorrectly as a prolapsed disc. They stretched me in physio to relieve pressure on the disc and this pulled the bone apart along one of the weaknesses. They messed around for another 6 months doing MRI scans, CT scans, blood tests, etc. Eventually, I rolled over in bed, there was a cracking noise and it broke along the other fracture. The vertebra collapsed trapping the nerves to my legs and has I had to have emergency surgery to save them, but was still paralysed for about a week. Took about a year to recover. Though it is very painful all the time and I have OxyContin 24/7. Still doing the lifting though. Just got to be very careful.

I threw up a little in my mouth watching that Atlas stone falling on that Canadian strongman. That was really grim! I wanna thank you for backing up this list with video clips. I know it is not always possible, but it can be, for me at least, hard to imagine or visualize what you are taking about. The knowledge from 'The Artist Formerly Known As Auntie Liz' who is somewhat morbid it would seem is just ... wauw! It is truly out of this world. Thank you for another great although horrible video. EDIT: Btw, didn't know Liz could speak Danish. The commentator literally said the second before she said it that it was two former World Strongest Man winners that was competing in that lorry loading with tires :D

Liz secretly enjoys watching this! 🤣 This was tough to watch. Knew you'd have a few on this Loz mate, feel for you mate! Brutal. Entertaining though. Liz is so supportive of you, you can tell, lovely to see. Fridge carry is still the worst! Edit: OK that atlas stone collapse on the Canadian bloke was horrific! Well done Big Maggie! I remember the arm wrestling one and Nathan Jones acting far too arrogant, he had that coming tbf. Still brutal though.

I really appreciated the time and effort you both put into videos. I feel as if a lot of people dont understand that even the strongest can get hurt and not enough emphasis gets put into safety education, especially watching WSM events where safety is an afterthought.

Poor Mark Phillipi. Seems like every time I saw him compete I saw him brutally hurt.

Never seen the footage of Gary, he's my uncles best mate from working on the prison service. They still talk daily and go on holidays together. I could maybe ask my uncle to ask him if he'd like to do an interview for the channel?

I watched your vlogs of the 2019 WSM, & Always remember poor Liz huffing n puffy n grunting as she struggled to push you in your wheelchair around Orlando (I believe) airport. Franco's was the first strongman injury of them all. He was born bow legged I believe (certainly had bow legs throughout his bodybuilding career). I wonder if that attributed to his knee giving out?

I don't remember what year was but there was an Olympic weightlifter doing a snatch and the catch position the right arm dislocated at the elbow and the forearm dropped down into his tricep. And then to add insult to the injury the bar that came down on top of the back of his neck.

First I thought of was Mark Philippi, but the worst I've ever HEARD was an athlete (sorry, blanking on the name...thinking possibly Grant Higa?) at a Canada's Strongest Man or North American Open event in the wheelbarrow walk. He simultaneously tore both quads and the blood curdling scream he let out almost made me vomit. My eyes teared up as I felt so bad for him.

I cringed with every injury that was shown. Its crazy, I can laugh my ass off when a skateboarder injures themselves, but when athletes do it, I always shut my eyes, and sort of do an unconscious wince.
