One of the things I learned when I went to witchcamp was that your inner critic will oftentimes manifest itself in a physical place on your body. I realized mine rests in my mouth, sometimes under my tongue, other times under my top lip. So when it's giving me some grief, I'll find it and actually make like I'm reaching into my mouth to pull it out. It's good to address it and stare it down when you feel like you're being controlled by it; I find it easiest to do that with a physical action.

But we need to stop and talk about the elephant, er...unicorn in the room. Cuz that mug!! :D

The inner demon! An apathy demon likes to lurk with me. And an imposter demon. Those guys like to party sometimes. thanks for sharing. Realising Beyonce and talented people like you share these problems is a little comforting. P.S THAT MUG IS TOO CUTE

Omgods yes! This speaks to me. How often that villianess in my brain screams at me. The vicious critique of my art. The critical outsiders who voice their opinions on every bit of my life. I view it as the ever fighting battle of light vs dark.

My biggest creative struggle has been wanting to make KZread videos, but never actually starting. I'll shoot unscripted things, like concerts, vlogs, how to make certain foods, etc., but then the files sit on my computer and never even see my editing program. Scripted videos... well, they just don't happen at all. Part of that is Imposter Syndrome, I'm sure, because I don't have all of the answers, but really, no one does! When your first "do the thing" was "make that video," it knocked me back in my seat. Thank you, Molly.

It's 2am in Australia, and my inner critic has been yanking my leash for a long time, and the thrust of my work this year is to get that under control. It's been a bit of a heavy 12 months, this 2016, personally and creatively for me, but I'm looking it in the eye now. Or at least, I'm starting to work on pinning it down so I can.

"Inner Demon gets louder when you're on to something..." SO TRUE!

You're right the inner demon is the strongest and loudest when you are on to something iconic, inspiring and organic weather it's with your art, music, magic whatever. I believe it's our brain telling us that we are wandering into new, unsafe territory. And at least with my creations, the best is always the fresh and new, outside from the comfort zone.

So, I guess I need to cut the shit and do stand-up comedy! Thank you, Molly!!! This is my favorite video:)

This has become one of those videos that I need to listen to at least once a month... maybe more often than that! I love the idea that your Inner Critic Demon is something you can work with and use to your advantage instead of it being a horrible shit-storm thing that you just have to live with. This video always gives me an emotional reset and makes me feel proactive and empowered to be the creative, capable person that I am. Thank you, ma'am, thank you!

So very true! I've dealt and deal with the inner demon saying I'm not good enough occasionally. It always comes around when I'm painting or doing other artsy stuff. Demons are just a reflection of our own negativity. It's also possible to receive negative energy from others, but it can only hurt us if we are off balanced and already in a dark place.

This brought tears to my eyes when you ran through the inner critic list of put downs......guess we all do this more than we'd like to. I also do the same thing seconds before I go on stage - the crippling self doubt of a performer :P

The voice that keeps us all small. I challenge myself to be big and make mistakes whenever I can. Imposter syndrome is huge. That’s mine too. Second guessing myself and feeling like I’m a fake (when I know I’m not, I am gifted, especially when I am at my best core self).
