@@heyheyheychocolaterain3058 I care so much because of the wasted potential. The level had cool aesthetics but was squandered because the Dev wanted an "easy route". If the Dev wanted an easy level, they could've just made one. They literally have the tools available. Instead, they ruined a potentially great level, which is imo, idiotic.

Seems like the guy you were taking records from was just farming dev exits to make a spot on the leaderboard

It funny, because if you read the Nintendo rules, they say that they will ban you, for doing stuff that is unintended by the level creator.. Not sure if they are enforcing it though.

There’s no way they COULD. Who’s to say the level creator didn’t intend it? You’d have to have testimony from the level creator to Nintendo that you did it an unintended way, and then they’d also have to have proof that you did it the way the level creator is claiming you did it lol it’s way too complicated for Nintendo to ever enforce that. What a dumb rule

I don't think you have that right. I think its that they can take down bugged/ glitched levels, EVEN IF that bug was unintended by the creator. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what the terms really say. Not that you can't "super jump" on a level or whatever.

They need to make the dev paths take forever. Just make it incredibly unnecessarily long. The entire 500 seconds WHILE powerup stalling just to deter people from taking them lol it would make speed running levels more interesting because you’d have to actually play the level instead of cheesing it by looking for a dev pipe

You should check out Pepanga's levels. He includes dev doors/pipes that are way harder and loner then the level. Most of the times they are impossible.

So nice to see someone actually booing bad levels, so annoying that crap like that actually exists and that so few are willing to do anything about it...I was probably gonna sub anyway, but someone that does that deserves it

I have an idea for a format, break the wr on 5 levels then have your viewers try to take them from you and 1 week later you try to wr the same levels again :)

It's funny cause for my levels I always get to the end and then just sit there till the last second and then beat it making my clear check time always the max timer time. So at least until someone beats it they believe it takes xxx seconds to beat lol.

Why do some of these levels have dev pipes? They seem entirely clearable. Are they supposed to be impossible? Or are the creators that bad? Or is there some other reason to create levels with dev pipes? Like the level at 30:15

I honestly have no idea. I make devexits but mine are slower and harder than the mainpath. I always check if my level is 100% beatable. The only reason i create them is so i dont have to beat the mainpath for the 500th when i want to upload it. Technically you could call it more of a "secret" instead of a devexit but theyre so incredibly cryptic i doubt anyone will go trough the effort to figure them out lmao.

There's really only two options in my opinion: Lil Timmy thinks it's a cool Easter egg to find in a level Some dude makes a purposefully impossible level and puts a dev pipe so it can be put online Edit 3rd option: Someone puts minimal work in a level and just wants to do minimal work putting it up online

I actually have a level where it LOOKS like there's a dev exit, but once you get to it, you get a funny surprise, and it's not the end of the level.

This is deffo my favorite series.

Panga doesn't just look for dev exit levels. He is looking for the fastest path. And unfortunately the levels have dev exits. Not his fault.

A lot of his times ARE in fact "run right and win" or title screen levels, with some underwater ones that are easy to frame-perfect, but he's not actually that good on many others, with levels not in those categories I can grab without even trying.

DSteves has mentioned a few times that the majority of the levels he gets records on is usually on his first try and then he moves on since he's going for most clears either through detailed search or easy endless. So sniping from someone who only plays a level once shouldn't really be too much of an accomplishment.

Considering he's played so many levels, I can see that. But there are some times I can beat also on my first attempt. Still not that much of an accomplishment, no, but I'm a top player on WRs with some impressive times on courses over 1000 plays, and those are what I'm proud of.

If you learned the physics etc. better, 3D Land are the easiest records to take (and hold, if you want). Most people really aren't very good at them. It's rare I come across one I can't take at least a few split seconds off (and the rare occasion I do have one taken from me it's generally by thousandths of a second myself). Funny thing is that it's my least favourite style and it's probably the one I spent the most time on learning the specifics of and the vast majority of my WRs.

I dont play mario maker, so i have a question, whats so bad about a dev exit? If you have a cool level idea but not the skill to complete it yourself, is it that bad to just make a way for you to finish so other can play the level who do have the skill?

Panga's trying for world records, and dev exits lead to very boring records. Similarly, why bother trying to beat the level on endless where you might lose lives instead of just taking the dev exit? In most cases, players will prefer using the dev exit to actually playing the level, so it's the same as just uploading a boring level.
