Not sure if you know but southeastern Oklahoma is gorgeous and you can take some of these skills and have a great time! Not as beautiful as Vancouver Island but for being close, it does the job!

Hey there Greg, love the video thanks for that, it really shows your dedication to your fans, we appreciate that. Your tips on different ways to starting a fire works great, car battery though... Old thing barely lights up a bulb. But anyway, I found a "science fire" fire starter, it's a well known mix so if someone by some chance keeps it in their pouch while on a trip, a small mound of potassium permanganate and literally one drop of glycerine in the center like when you're mixing flour and eggs sparks up a small flame. Not the most natural way, but does the trick none the less, you light up a few twigs and just move it to your fire log tower, a fun way to make BBQ for your friends. But once again love the videos, hope to see more great content. Greetings from South Africa. 💪🎣

i lived on the island for 20 years.. if ya go to union bay ( near courtenay) and launch at the public ramp... cross to the 1st island, skirt around it then jump to the 2nd island you will get all sorts of rock fish lingcod out the yingyang ... we called it codfish bay... every pass inland a ling every pass outward a salmon . ./ great clamming and crabbing there as well

I love the hollowed area of tree roots where your friend said she could live there, make a home out of those tree hollows. What a great looking place! I can see it, can imagine it :)

Hi seen the video of you and Oklahoma fan just a note here in Michigan we use salmon spawn to catch salmon ,rap up spawn in a pink mesh sack ,works wonders hook spawn bag on strong hook,be awesome to see you maybe give it a try ,happy fishing .

That's funny all you did was eat my fish at my house, we had Mackerel, but that is not my favourite fish. I like dogfish also called catshark ( Scyliorhinus canicula uk South West British Isles) it is an extremely unfussy scavenger, eats pretty much anything if it can find. Worms, prawns, shellfish, crabs and fish, it hunts down. That is why it tastes so good .. Great show Greg...

Hi Greg. First I love watching your videos. You’re a true survivor man. Have you worked for TLC or Labour Unlimited? I swear maybe 15 years or 17 or 19 years back, I can’t exactly remember, you worked for me on a site either in Vancouver or Victoria, but I think Vancouver like The Max or Sterling or theme of a couple of others who worked on. I was with Ledcor and ITC. I just somehow recall a fella younger who said that’s what I like about you Shane. You just say it straight. Something like that. I heard you say something similar in a video with maybe Amos or Zackery and for some reason it sparked a distant memory. Maybe I’m totally wrong, but I have to ask. 😊
