Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft
Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft
Canadian native, Greg Ovens, has been studying outdoor survival and bushcraft since the age of 12. He spent the past 30 years living among the Canadian Rocky Mountains in the Columbia Valley of British Columbia, where he enjoys testing his hunting, fishing, hiking, and bush-crafting skills. Being a drywaller by trade, combined with his passion for outdoors, it’s no surprise that he also prides himself in being able to build a shelter out of just about anything.
Recently, Greg was on Season 3 of History Channel’s “Alone”, where he survived with no human contact for 51 days (over seven weeks) before hypothermia caught up with him in the Patagonian wilderness. He’s launching this channel with the video series, “30 Day Survival Challenge”, where he and Zachary Fowler (“Alone” Season 3 Winner) venture out into the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia, where the only rule is: if you want to eat, you have to catch and cook it.

A librarian may be able to help you. My niece did some family films several years ago.
What about two holes in the can instead?

Great video!
Could you make a video on how you deal with tick and other insect or animals ?
couldn't you also just crack open the can a little without taking the whole lid off? to release the pressure

UV USED SOO MUCH BRAIN CELL DEPLETING ALUMINUM FOIL THAT U CALL IT TIN FOIL!!!
I've seen that before but nobody ever really explained it the way that you did this reminds me that I'd like to have a nice magnifying glass that's part of my kit. The cool thing is that for a couple of bucks you can buy a whole box of Ziploc bags.
Guys you don't utilise the whole animal just for hes points on his head and back straps Don't hunt don't make this videos
Skills
Modern canned food like chef boyardee often has a plastic liner inside the can. Don’t cook in the can. Be better to make yourself a foil bowl.
Don't leave home (Camp) without it!!!! ✔️
I enjoyed this 30 day solo video , thank you very much for shearing it with us. I'm from small country Latvia - like your channel very much. All the best to you
So you caught fish that were perfectly sized for your pan😎! Good eye there angler! Also very glad that prayer helped you. It helps me too. ❤
Fin is the best
Love watching you Oven Mitts!! Lol survival is fun. Some people make it worse than what it should be but Gregs a good example of if you don't panic you can survive anywhere.
Thanks Gregg, I've learned some good stuff from your videos. I like the way you stay calm, and figure it out!
Hello from Poland 🇵🇱👋
Always a good thing when you are still around to tell a bear story.
How is that possible to be in bear territory in the woods and not keep in mind to have a firearm at an arm length away? I understand wandering away leaving the firearm back at the campsite perhaps to use the bathroom or to do a little scouting. That’s when your sidearm comes in handy.
I loved this bush challenge, and learned a lot from it. Thank God for Amos! If it wasn’t for him, Greg and the dog, would have starved! Amos just kept chugging along, with his positive attitude, and did not say anything negative, the whole time! He was grateful to carry the load, and did it with a smile, the whole time! Greg, you got yourself a great friend for life. We need more people like this, in our world, to show how to struggle, in a positive light!
Awesome story bro, had a couple bear encounters myself, I think they much rather eat fish than people😊
I love joker knife joke or nice tree did you nice very very well
❤❤❤❤❤😊
Wow!
That’s a great story. I needed to hear that. As you were telling about that fish all tangled under the water, I thought, “That sounds like my own life. I can see what needs to happen but can’t seem to get it done.” But when you told about that same fish floating back down the stream, it gave me so much encouragement that everything is going to work out and get better. Thank you for sharing.
MONSTERS
Phew!

At first I thought you was drinking a bong gregg 😂
