Thanks for posting this! I studied Shorei-ryu 20 years ago and I learned 4 Taikyokus. But we called them (and I'm going to butcher the spelling) geidan (low block), chudan (middle block), jodan (high block), and kicking taikyoku. I couldn't for the life of me remember the exact sequence so again thanks for posting this!

Im starting karate and i dont know which Taikyoku nidan im supposed to learn ive seen like 10 different versions if Taikyoku Nidan some involves Age uke some involves kicks and some involves hitting a bit higher like in this tutorial

At Taikyoku-Sandan, is that the Kokutsu-dachi stance while doing the ude-uke defense? The Kokutsu-dachi that I had learned in my youth is less wide than yours. Thanks for this tutorial, it brings back memories.

taikyoku shodan is usually the first kata in some schools, some schools also start with heian shodan

Damn our style is a mix of Shotokan and Goku Ryu but our Taikyoku Nidan is like the first with kicks added 😅 but I will practice the first one as their old videos look over the other shoulder before they turn but in the dojo they do it your way 😁
