Tai Chi for Beginners 04 - "Place of Power"

Tai Chi Chuan helps us feel our "place of power." When we are grounded, have an upright posture, and are comfortable with expanding (without compromising our frame/posture), and yielding (without collapsing our frame/posture), you are in your "place of power." In this episode we’ve added the following Tai Chi Chuan movement patterns: "Right and Left Heel Kick," "Snake Creeps through Grass," and “Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg.” Learning the martial arts applications of these movements can be fun, but remember they are for demonstration purposes only. Once you understand the martial applications (Yang energy), let go of them and let the energy flow through the movements so it comes back to the healing aspect (Yin energy) of the art which is why I believe most of you are practicing Tai Chi Chuan. Dear Daniel and Veronika, I love your tutorials! I have done Tai Chi 108 forms for almost 3 years and a half. I have started Tai chi Chuan with you during the lockdown. I like it very much. I felt I wanted to try a new form of Tai chi ans liked your teaching style a lot. I am trying to do it every week not to lose the momentum. I also like a lot the martial art applications! Thanks a lot for your teachings!

I love this, but it’s hard to follow when you aren’t mirroring the movements (I have to go the opposite direction). Please go more slowly. Thanks!

I do this EVERY morning and evening and I LOVE how it makes me feel. I feel healthier, more flexible and notice certain aches are going away (especially in my knees). I wish there were more videos of Dr. Hoover and Veronica! This has truly helped me!

Wonderful videos! As a beginner it would be nice/helpful to see your movements from behind making it easier to follow your movements. Still, as is, you're movements are so incredibly fluid... Thank you both for this awesome series.

Hello Daniel and Veronika, we love you and your Tai Chai class... which we are doing every day while in lock down here in London, UK! One question... we are mirroring your moves so consequently right and left are reversed, until you turn around and we see you from behind and then we can get muddled. What would you recommend... should we follow your right and left commands and not mirror your moves? Sending love and hoping your are keeping safe and well, Sandy and Sheelagh
