This cold air intake features a large air intake tube and a unique air scoop to direct copious amounts of cold air into your engine. No tuning to your truck’s ECU is needed when installing the Injen Evolution Cold Air Intake With Oiled Filter. In fact, this cold air intake is engineered to work with your truck’s factory tune. That being said, it’s always a good idea to get an ECU re-tune in the future as this will only help maximize the potential of this cold air intake.
The Injen Evolution Cold Air Intake uses an advanced oiled air filter. This air filter uses an 8-layer cotton gauze filter media that allows maximum air flow. The filter features 1-inch deep pleating that increases surface area. This feature works with an exclusive filter oil to provide extremely efficient filtration. Cleaning is easy with just mild soap and water, or an appropriate air filter cleaning fluid. Moreover, filtering efficiency is easily maintained via corresponding filter oil.
The Injen Evolution Cold Air Intake is crafted from high-density polyethylene using an advanced roto-casting technique. This creates a seamless housing, inlet tube, and air scoop that’s as heat resistant as it is resilient. Moreover, this cold air intake assembly uses stainless steel clamps and heat-resistant silicone couplings to further extend its service life.

Make sure you disconnect the negative terminal battery first before installing this so the computer relearns the new mod.

Just my opinion, but the design looks like it will pull hotter air from the radiator/fan vs. the stock location and also will be more susceptible to water intake.
I have redline tuning hood struts, will the box clear? I cant tell or is the Volant my best option?
Does the air box with the rubber piece actually slot into the wheel well, or is there a gap/sits over it?
Is this available in 2018 toyota tacoma with 2.7 l 4cylinder engine ?
Not clear on how the ram air function would work. Top of the casing looks tight against the radiator mount. Does it draw air in from behind the radiator (hot air)?

With the air coming in the grill at speed, hot air bleed from the radiator would be minimal. There is a slight gap between the front frame and the top of the radiator. I'm worried this gap may not be enough when it arrives because I also have a magnuson supercharger that has another radiator mounted in front of the stock one.
I currently have a safari snorkel hooked up to my original intake. will this work with the snorkel I have now on my tacoma?

I would highly recommend getting in touch with Injen regarding fitment of this intake with your safari snorkel. My gut is telling me that it most likely will not, but the manufacturer would know better than I would. 😁 -Zach

So the ram air scoop pulls in air after the radiator? Wont that be pulling in hot radiator air?

I've seen this asked on another channel and it wasn't answered but after looking closely at the design of the "ram-air" portion, then looking at my 2018 Tacoma, the air will enter above the radiator. The radiator is at about 3 inches below the front frame the "ram-air" attaches to. I'm also checking out the S&B.

Start of the video claims that when dyno’d it added 17 HP. Not much but helps some. I recon this and an OVTune would combine VERY well to help with MPG and power
Save your money this thing sucks. 2 out of the 3 holes line up the 3 isn't even close no matter what one you choose to tighten last. Ram air scoop is like a 1/2 inch to short. Just save your money and throw a snorkel on for a better cold air intake or just leave the stock intake on.

Thing is a POS been tackling the 3 bolt problem for about an hour
So essentially you're pulling in "hotter" air since the intake mount sits right behind the radiator now.

The enclosed air-box in this kit still draws cool air from the wheel well just like the stock one does. The included air scoop however helps force more cool outside air from your grille, *above* your radiator, to keep things as cool as possible. This same design is used in many modern F150 engine options. Thanks for watching! -Zach

You can’t force more air. It can only suck so much. You want more air add a SC.
