If you add a balanced Y-pipe with a 3" cat back exhaust and then re-tune, you will see most of the 17HP gain. Also, add the Ripp high energy coils and a Tundra throttle body with those mods and 330HP is possible.

You're missing one of the fasteners on the top of the radiator support and you should also zip tie your maf sensor wire to something so it's not flapping around and fatiguing the wires. Good job on the video.

Hell yea jesse good choice that was my next opinion after the S&B. Hey I just installed a oil catch can for my taco it's not a performance mod but It really helps the life of the vehicle not much $ but a must in my eyes all vehicles should come with it from factor. Keep up the good vlogs

@@jessehenry3751 An oil catch can is a canister that is installed, or spliced into the intake system between the positive crankcase ventilation valve and the intake manifold, and its function is to “catch” excessive amounts of oil that might be present in the intake system before it can enter the cylinders so basically it saves the life of your vehicle and keeps carbon build up way down...

Just installed it today. Mines a manual. It starts pulling real good after 2500 rpm. I also installed new plugs and R.i.p.p coil packs feels good. Next it’s a OTT tune and full exhaust system headers back. And eventually 5.29 gears.

After installing my cold air intake my wife told me that my 23 TRD sounds like it has a V8. With the cold air intake and the Overland Torque Tune, my 23 TRD is pumping out 318 horsepower and 290 lb ft of torque. I’m now getting better fuel mileage

Good video.. only thing of concern, is you kinda defeat the snorkel buy using the front portion of the air intake on the grill. As water can easily enter the system that way. They actually recommend not using that piece for snorkels and off-road use, due to increase in dirty air and possible water intake. Just fyi. All that said, it's a nice intake.. and again good video.

You'll need to modify the mount for the ARB to push it back further in order for the injen to fit.

If I put it in my truck and won't have nothing to do with my factory warranty cuz I put a 2018 Honda Civic PRL intake and I went to take it to the dealer to check something was wrong with my Turbo and they said they wouldn't fix it because I have aftermarket a short ram intake so I had to take out the short ram intake for them to work on my 2018 Honda Civic hatchback and put the stock OEM plastic filter

Question: if this intake has a front grille vortex intake, what's the purpose of the snorkel if the purpose of that is to allow you to submerge into deeper water to avoid swallowing water? Won't water get into the front inlet?? 🤔 Awesome install video tho... I'm curious to get this, but worried about water getting into it thru the front...

I have the same installed on my 21 OR. it just needs to be cleaned every 10k or so. does not need to be replaced at all

You should of also recommend people to clean the MAS sensor and throttle body itself with the special spray built for them, since you get to remove the mas and have access to the throttle body. Also you should of added a throttle body spacer, it allows a better seal all around

You spent $500+ on a snorkel to raise the air intake to the top of your windshield and reduce any ingress of water then you spent another $400 to lower the air intake to the top of the grill? Any decent water crossing is going to create a bow wave that comes over your grill and goes right into that Injen intake that goes across the top of your grill which will almost guarantee a hydrolocked engine.

The power gains on air intakes are never really noticeable. But the throttle response is a huge difference. Great install! Only question I have is with the ram intake in the front. Doesn't that defeat the use of a snorkel?

I bought this 4 inch tube from auto zone and attached it from intake all the way pass the fender plus some weather stripping I had around the tube

A tune will help with the HP and torque, W/O then you'll need to be over the 4K RPM mark to hear or feel any difference.

The factory air box is a cold air intake since it pulls air from the wheel well and not the engine bay.

Nice noise maker.

Note: Installing this defeats the purpose of the snorkel, if the snorkel is there to protect the engine from water. If you never intend to drive in water that may be at hood level, no worries. Also, the resonation chamber is on the intake plumbing to reduce noise. It has nothing to do with emissions.

Its always concerning when people think that extra chamber affects emissions at all. It also defeats the purpose of the snorkel for dust, as in you are not the lead vehicle of a group.

Impact Wrench or air ratchet. You can also find the extension at any autozone or home depot.

So since you have a snorkel, doesn't the ram air part of that intake counter the reason for the snorkel? Since the ram would suck in any dust you'd get from following a vehicle down a dirt road. Also what about water depth? I'm only asking because i'm debating this cold air intake and the S&B intake. And eventually like to get a snorkel

So yes it slightly defeats the purpose of the snorkel but regardless it still sits way higher then where ur stock intake box would sit so as long as u don’t submerge ur front grille (and I don’t see why u would ever want to) then you’ll be fine but if you plan on getting s&b that might be a better option with a snorkel

And since you've had this set up have you noticed cleaning the filter more since you now have the ram air part? Cause I assumed the snorkel was to try and get higher up for cleaner air. Not clear, exactly, on how the ram air part of the casing would work. It looks like it would draw air in from behind the radiator. HOT air. The top looks clamped down tight, except for small bits at the sides, and I'd think that's where the cold air would be rammed.

Have you had any issues with checking oil level or coolant?

@@JesseRizo nah man that isn’t how that works lol. The ducting that goes from the grill to the intake can suck up water and hydro lock your engine. So your snorkel isn’t still “technically useful” it completely negates it altogether.

I really like your channel, but over and over again aftermarket air filters give little or no mpg or performance gains. They look cool, but dollar for dollar, no.

After installing my cold air intake my wife told me that my 23 TRD sounds like it has a V8. With the cold air intake and the Overland Torque Tune, my 23 TRD is pumping out 318 horsepower and 290 lb ft of torque. I’m now getting better fuel mileage

Would this or the S&B be ok to add to a new 2022 tacoma trd with 200 miles on the odometer? Or would it be better to wait ? great video
