T1N Sprinter Fuel Door Magnetic Latch & Spring

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Does your fuel door close properly? Has it ever been open when you thought it was closed? The springs that hold it open and closed have a complicated job for a simple spring. Magnets make a big difference but they get rusty if not protected.

I love the green alcohol because the mint flavor helps cover up the gnarly isopropyl smell😂. Thanks for the informative video

You are an inspiration! I think I've posted it before, yes you have saved me time and will again, sadly I'm on a fixed income that is not keeping up with the ghastly inflation, I may have to sell my beloved Sprinter ex Ambulance. :( I will have to replace the “Indicator /flasher/ wiper module” as High beam died with the stick on that position. I'd like her to go to a good home so I' going to get her nice and neat for the next owner, Thanks again, Mike

Good idea. Right at the end of the video you can see a bracket on the side of the driver's seat. Any idea what that is used for?

Factory optional fire extinguisher. I have not seen any in the states, only these brackets. Behind the driver seat we also have a holder for reflective traffic triangles. Ive seen only a few of those populated with the triangles in an orange box but every van had the holder.

Smashing bananas.... Is diesel cheaper or more expensive than gas in the States?

A little higher price here in Texas where I live. Gasoline is $2.75 per gallon and diesel is $3.07 per gallon.

@@michaeltablet8577 Thanks Michael. I am Scottish there was a big drive to get us to buy diesels for decades. Now we have them, they put diesel prices up to more than petrol/gasoline. We're paying around 7 dollars a gallon and Scotland exports oil

why not putting the magnets on the door, they would be less exposed, more hidden and the filler cap surroundings look clean, tx EinHexenMeister

The magnets will grab some fuel handle hardware becoming a mild nuisance, holding the door and obstructing our attempt to grab the handle. The rusty magnets shown had been on the door originally, but I moved them to the van days or weeks after putting them on the door. I didn't get around to covering with caulk for a couple years, so the magnets on the door must have been a real inconvenience driving me to action so quickly. :)
