This practice has been a game changer for many of my students suffering with the pesky symptoms of sciatic nerve pain. Unfortunately, (in my experience), there is no quick fix. The key is to make it a part of your lifestyle and keep working at it!

Sequence is done either sitting in the chair or standing with the option of the last hip opener being done laying down which may be more accessible hip mobility than sitting.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: A chair!!
Also, if you end up doing the hip openers laying down, you may need some height (pillow, blanket) for under your head, and/or a strap to help you draw the legs in towards you.

I have sciatica I also have bone on bone on my right knee, plus knee replacement left knee, so to come across a teacher that actually wants to TEACH and not show off she can be a pretzel is a rare thing indeed, I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to your classes. Thank you 😊

I had a very serious "freak" accident about 2 months ago. I am finally recovering except for screaming sciatic pain. Your video is WONDERFUL. I am now doing it daily and feel like I am finally heading in the direction of total recovery! Thank you!!

I had foot surgery a month ago and being so immobile has been rough on my body. It feels very tight especially in my legs, and I’ve been getting sciatic pain from the sitting and lying down. This video was exactly what I needed. I feel looser and better already. Great specific stretches. Thank you thank you thank you!

Have pain in lower back I'm senior citizen I don't know if it's sciatica but do some exercises as demonstrated by you. I love your calming voice and going to do exercises as shown.

Thank you. This was excellent. I select videos for my parents and I to do each morning. This was the first video that my father said didn't move too quickly for him so he has an opportunity to get into the stretch and hold it long enough to get some benefit from it before the instructor moved on to the next one. I really enjoyed this as well and found my hips and back felt good afterwards.

@@TessaRaeYoga Thanks. Checking out your website now. For my parents, I'm looking for chair yoga or some light standing poses only. We usually focus on shoulders, lower back, and knees, and any hand, foot and balance exercises I can find that are appropriate for someone with a neurodegenerative disorder.

@@julstech5903 ok, try my hands/wrists/fingers video and let me know if its too fast...hands are so important for body/mind connection and also maintaining function. Also there is a balance for beginners that starts on your back but you can always skip it or do it at a wall. I will keep this in mind with my upcoming videos! I do also offer live chair classes on mondays and fridays right now if that interests you:)
