    Get a person to break 2-3 coconuts. Do as he shows you and then divide then in to portions, put them in freezer bags and freeze them. Take out as needed. I have the same problem and I am going to follow the same tip.

    Anna actually i saw one comment saying "மூட்ட பூச்சி கொல்ற நவீன machine " bla bla bla. இப்போ அத காணும் . I tried this method & stored it for 2 days.     A fresh grated coco is by far ideal if u got time to kill. But when u gotta cook steadfast on the go this can be done at weekends. Quite obvious, it dosent taste the same. But lot better than tinned coconmilk or desicated coco. Good job chef 👍

    This seems a longer process and the use of more utensils and tools. Think of time spent in steaming and then cleaning the steamer. You could just break the coconut and use a good knife to take out the kernel in small chunks and then turn them on a mixie adding no water. You could also plan ahead and freeze the coconut in halves. Once thawed (which takes just a few minutes), it's very easy to take out the kernel and then turn it on a processor.

    Freeze-thawing didn't work for me. At all. Coconut flesh remained hard and difficult to remove /cut .
