Systemic Vascular Resistance (Total Peripheral Resistance) | Cardiology
In this video, Dr Mike examines the role of blood vessels in altering blood pressure. This is known as systemic vascular resistance (SVR) or total peripheral resistance (TPR). There are three ways that blood vessels can affect blood pressure:

- Length
- Viscosity

Most welcome!
Very helpful
Would be great if you mentioned the normal range of SVR and its units. I think there is a lot of confusion about that in the literature.
Thank you 👏🏻❤️

Hi Dr. Mike. Thanks for all your videos...it is so helpful for my pathology courses! I was just wondering is another factor for the increase/decrease of TPR Chronic Kidney Disease ...where there is too much albumin in the blood...affecting osmotic draw? thanks
this video helped
so if i put my finger on the end of the hose will less water will come out? Or would the same amount come out, only at a greater velocity? and if the water doesn't come out wouldn't it go to other parts of the body where the blood is needed more, not "backing up into the system"? And if you cut a garden hose in half but kept the amount of water being fed into the hose constant wouldnt the hose fill up the bucket at the same rate? ???? Just asking.

Dr Mike, Thanks for the videos. Hopefully, you can help me. You're a guy who obviously works out and so am I (probably not as much as you)! I'm 64 yo and play golf here in Texas. I also walk everyday. I have this problem where on warm days, golfing or exercise OUT DOORS will cause my blood pressure to crash. Normally, my BP is 130/80 and it crashes to 90/60 and as low as 85/55. I try and stay hydrated both during exercise and the days before exercise. I've seen an endocrinologists with no help. There is a mechanism called orthostatic intolerance during heat stress that fits my situation. Golfing involves a lot of bending over which seems to worsen my problem. (light headedness, etc) Should I be seeing a neurologists to help me with this problem??
What is Hybetez Remedy? I have noticed several amazing things about this high blood pressure remedy.
