SYND 17 2 79 HANDOVER OF THE UNITED STATES CLARK AIR BASE TO THE PHILIPPINES GOVERNMENT
(16 Feb 1979) The United States hands over its Clark Airbase on Luzon Island to the Philippine government. It was a backbone of logistical support for the Americans during the Vietnam war. Imelda Marcos, President Ferdinand's wife cuts a ribbon during the official handing over ceremony. American General David Jones gives a speech. The handover of the bases by the Americans to the Philippine government marks a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries. The Philippines now have sovereignty over the bases, although the Americans are allowed certain usage. and the United States will also provide military assistance.

I was there too.. Im 3 months old ..Im the one in diaper...I had goosebumps then i remember..
Ahh so that's why the kids on the base sang both US and Philippine national anthem like wagner high..😁
ngayon lumalabas na ang mga vdeos ni Apo Lakay na hindi pinalabas noon..
