I add garlic & light soy sauce.Dark soy sauce is more for colour than flavour, light soy sauce gives more flavour!.I also add chopped Brussels sprouts & chopped spring onions.

Just came across this video in my recommended & oh my goodness.. yum yum! Easiest fried rice recipe I’ve come across so far. Thank you SO much! Not sure I’m keen on you now though, speaking so poorly of my beloved mushrooms 😂 Only kidding! Haha. Thanks again! New subbie here x

Glad you loved the rice, but I'm sorry I just can't be nice to mushrooms. They and tomatoes are my pet hates, I shall try and be nicer to them in future haha

This looks so good, I could live on that for work lunches. I’m amazed to see that you can used cooked chicken. I always thought that was just a deli meat and not to be reheated and then you can heat again the next day? I’d eat it cold anyway but it’s nice to know it’s safe to reheat and have a warm lunch some days too. Thanks so much for this. Enjoyed your other recipe vids tonight too 👍🏼😊

Amy TiH Hi Amy, sorry for responding 2 months later on your comment lol! I just came across this video (yum!) & thought I’d respond! You can absolutely cook any of the meats that come pre-packaged, most even come with cooking instructions if you check the back. You just have to make sure they’re hot all the way through & you’re good to go! They’re a lifesaver, especially when you don’t have time to faff with raw meat (or aren’t keen on faffing too much with raw meat like me lol!) I use the cooked meats on slimming world friendly pizzas (with a weight watchers wrap, tomato purée & your toppings of choice - whack it in the oven!) X

You can reheat things once usually. So you should not be then reheating this meal again the next day as could make you bad especially with the rice that's a definite no no. As its a high risk food as is the meat. The diced frozen pre cooked chicken is also good for things like this. Looks delicious so I will try it but I will be eating it as its made or cold the next day.

Gemma Mudd I’ve taken 3 health & hygiene courses & the information I was given was the same each time; it’s safe to cook rice & reheat. You just have to let it cool down completely before freezing or refrigerating, & when portioned out into containers, make sure it’s cooked thoroughly until piping hot. The NHS also recommend you do the same. I have never, ever been unwell from reheated rice or meat by doing it this way & I’m in my 30’s. I’ve also never been unwell from reheating meat so long as I’ve followed the above rules, although I often use raw meat if I’m freezing (cook, then freeze), & ready cooked meats for meals I’m going to sit down & eat at the time 👍🏻

You've misunderstood what I said you can reheat it once. In the video she's using pre cooked rice, chicken and ham so heating once as she does here is fine, just not to reheat again afterwards. I've done level 4 managing food hygiene as well as the others leading up to it.

Did you use frylight spray? I find that rice, noodles & pasta stick to the pan no matter how generous you are with the spray or how much you you stir them!

I haven't used frylight for a while, I tend to use a low calorie spray such as tesco or asda. They are synned though, I don't really like the taste of Frylight

The rice that you put in, was that already pre cooked by you or was it just straight out of the packet?
