    Nice retrofit Marty. I have a set of CP servos for my build. I like the Acorn board. I wish they'd do away with db25 connector and offer more inputs

    DB25 is for 5vdc logic drives. If you really need more IO, consider an Ether1616

    Hi Marty, great setup. Do you use 2 different power supplies, one for the Power Hub and another for Acorn? If so, why can't you use the power supply shipped with the Acorn to power the Power Hub? Thanks for the info, very informative.

    I used two different power supplies, one primarily for Acorn and it's logic and one for the Estop contactor and Power4-Hub. They are cheap and it's cheap insurance for the reliability of the control in my opinion. Also, it wasn't clear how much current was required to maintain power to the drives

    Hi Marty, thought I'd let you know, I reached out to Teknic for more information and the wattage requirements for the Power Hub is 3W per motor (p200 in the manual), so in my case 9W. The power supply that came with the Acorn board (Mean Well RD-35B) has a rated output of 35W so I think that I'm safe with only the power supply bought from Centroid's Acorn system. Thanks again :)

    I noticed in the teknic brake manual, they recommended a flyback diode in certain installs. Do you feel one is needed when using the acorn relays?

    Hi Paul, I'm an engineer with Teknic and saw your question about brakes. While we don't sell brakes currently, we've evaluating selling brakes on our webstore (this might launch late this year, so subscribe to our email list if you want the latest product updates). In the meantime, we have several partner companies that offer brakes (and other components) that we would be happy to put you in touch with, depending on the requirements. Please give us a call at +1 585 784 7454 or contact us at: www.teknic.com/contact/ Best regards, Aaron B. - Teknic Servo Systems Engineer

  • @martyscncgarage5275

    @martyscncgarage5275

    Very. The entire control is stable provided you use GOOD wiring practices, properly sized drives/motors and a Windows 10 PC meeting the minimum performance requirements. Centroid has been building CNC machine motion controllers for over 30 years
