To me, a tell-tale sign of greatness is when a singer like Sydney is able to end quietly with the audience so quiet you could hear a pin drop. BGT audiences tend to be raucous, but to get them to feel the song and her message so well that they are absolutely silent in that quiet, emotionally exposed place, speaks volumes. Well done!

From start to finish, this is my all time favorite audition on any talent show. Talk about someone who is easy to pull for, she comes out and in two minutes has us all eating out of her hand. So accessable, affable, humble, lovely, incredibly funny, and massively talented. Sydnie is the total package, and my pick to win it all. It will be hard to follow an audition like this, so song choice is enormously important. I'm hoping for "She Used to Be Mine". I think she would totally kill that song, and have us all sobbing. Thanks, Juliet, for another great reaction.

In the 17 years of BGT, I honestly believe this is THE best singing performance they have ever had. I've watched at least two dozen times and seen two professional reactions, yours being one of them. So far I haven't seen anyone spot a flaw. South a magnifying glass and tweezers, a few flaws could be teased out, but this is a thoroughly professional level performance. An absolute master class

@haraldfaber6452 I have. She's very good. I still have to go with Sydnie. Sydnie has a finer, better controlled variability in what she does. She also puts emotion into a song and connects with her audience better. I certainly don't take anything away from Lauren's tremendous ability, I just see Sydnie as a more complete stage performer. Of course that doesn't mean that others won't disagree with me and that's just fine. We can all have our own favorites

So amazing, it wasn't just "art", she shaped it into English art, with musical feeling. Emotional art of a 28 year old, giving such a real story to the song as the singing coach said. Sydnie even stood stock still but for her arms, the whole time. She looked like she was in the west end, so they'll find her 'here' and she'll be there for real very soon, God willing.

Thanks Juliet. This version was actually recorded by Marisha Wallace as a fundraiser, 3 years ago, during the Pandemic, when the theaters were all closed. Sydnie improved it by leaps and bounds. Regarding her prior experience. She was part of a cast for a couple of plays in the past. 1 in London and 1 in Germany. She also was a cruise ship performer for Royal Caribbean. So she has experience, but has never performed on The West End according to her interviews. She was an understudy before Covid closed everything. Not exactly a household name (yet). I heard shades of Judy Garland there.

@@matthewjensen8623a good sentiment but it's a little more complicated than that. I mean that respectively. The hardest part for me in dealing with depression is the feelings of isolation it creates and then the numb feeling nothing not even caring enough to ear, the inability to sleep that compounds everything. My advice is if you know someone that suffers from depression isn't telling Jesus loves them but showing them you do, be a true example of Christian love and you'll show them that Jesus loves them too.

The most precious moment in this audition for me was Sydnie saying shes never experienced anything like this before....and then said she felt hurt. It takes the interruption out of your react - I mean - any pause in this brilliant performance feels almost cruel (lol!) cuz she is so good BUT your style of reacting has won me over. The ending surprised me too - such a brave surprise. The beginning feels so “throaty” to me - as if the tears are just right there - and the second time through feels so much like she’s singing through tears but controlled - and the end just feels like that sigh after a good cry. Total Manipulation! That’s what an audience Pays For. 👍 Makes me wish I was 45 years younger.🤣😹

She acts the song, starting with a type of wishing for it. Then as her voice grows and comes from a deeper place, probably where hope lives. She grows there and desires us to grow in the hope that could be. And you ask the question, 'Could there honestly be a way?' Dare I actually hope for something better? Then she really does 'stick out her chin' and say the biggest YES! that could ever be said or sung. And by the end, the product is evident. And yes, quietly, hope truly is possible. And we, the audience have received from her, what she earnestly wanted to birth in us.....Hope. And boy, do we ever need it now! Well done Sydnie, and thank you so much. Your last name fits so perfectly. I mean what better hope for the child of all ages, than the hope of Christmas. What a blessing you are! And the audience display showed, how very hungry they were, we were to receive your gift of HOPE.💖

Have the same job as you, my voice was mezzo had a car accident, broke my spine , Sung with the great ones, Montserrat Caballe, , Jos"e Carerras, and on a flight London New York with Placido Domingues, didn't recognice him first, just got upgraded and told him I had just Sung with before the night before; never felt more embarrassed in ,my life. bcs my vision is not perfekt, he Said I was perfect. Sydney would be my perfect pupil. She ljust has it. Agree with Simon (for once) that after the secoond song; My Way, the judges didn't know how good Sydney is. She just has the audience captured at once; THAT talent CAN"T BE LEARN. Will start singing again in August. My name doesn"t Ring any bells bcs I never performed with this name. Have a etage name bcs I'm Jewish from Israel, which isnt the best not. Live in the Most north of Europé, daylight here is abt 22 per day.

What Sydnie isn't getting a lot of talk about is her incredible vocal arrangement of the song. She also has a body of stage work behind her which she's able to exploit. Brilliant talent.

She's is, of course, a fantastic singer, but she's much more than that. Her choreography was spot on for the song. The arrangement of the song was very interesting. Her effervescence was wonderful and comfortable. She was funny and likeable before she sang a note. Reminded me a bit of a comedic actress. Yeah, I think she's going to be fine.

I have seen this performance a couple of times now and don't know if anyone else has made this comparisson, but I am struck by some parallels to Barbara Streisand...and that is taking nothing away from the talent who is - Sydnie Christmas

I like that you asked the pertinant question. The one that caused Simon to roll his eyes. The one that makes it SO very difficult to listen to anyone sing this song; How does an ADULT make THIS song resonate and catch the interest of an audience?! You sing it like it's a hymn! You sing it like it's a love song!!! She transformed the whole song with her performance and made it ADULT!!! It's a brilliant arrangement and shows another level to her talent and skills far beyond just her voice!!
