I love that Wooloo is a pokemon you get at the very beginning of the game, similar to Rattata or Bidoof from previous gens, but Dubwool is a viable endgame pokemon

Top notch analysis as always. Love to see the sheep/goat see some use since it's an often overlooked physical wall. Because i'm terrible i mostly just used Inteleon for my story team which was challenging mostly because it is a special pokemon that leveling up the game just throws a bunch of physical moves at throughout the story. The rest of my team was just so forgettable i really don't remember what it was. I kind-of regret picking sobble as my starter as i think lately (gen 4,gen7 and gen 8) the grass starter is really interesting and Cinderace is just great.

I have been waiting for this (also I had like three teams so I will just say the team that made it to champion status Rio cinderace, hello there golisopod, Red Baron gmax corviknight, SHOTGUN!!! sandaconda, tyranatar(it had a Japanese name), scuttler galvatula)

Really fun watch, and I love hearing the thought process behind the moves. I think you're close to convincing me to switch over to console battling over showdown too, its a very different meta, and honestly looks more fun

Really solid video Res. That first battle was fun to watch but I admittedly didn't pay much attention to the second one. It is always fun to listen to your play by play on games you know quite well.

My story team was Noivern, Leafeon, Golisopod, Obstagoon, Arcanine, and Excadrill; ended up not using my starter cause I didn't really like the design of Rilaboom.

OK that Flower Gift Cherrim was genius. Opp was cocky 'what's a Cherrim gonna do' and +3 Psychic doesn't OHKO wow! Also yay Miles Edgeworth and Barnham! :D Also yeah the Snipe Shot animation is fantastic - loved that as my starter! :D Though Cinderace is pretty darn cool too, Pyro Ball is a great animation. Also yay Boltund! Good doggo. I imagine the starter Pokemon have better base stats than what you catch in the wild, hence Cinderace outspeeding? The Phantom Force animation is cool too - Golurk actually punches you from behind! On your keeping Gmax format comments - I guess they didn't want yet another format (especially not one that tried to keep Gmax legal as they would've seen that as a kind of complex ban I would think). You can use Dmax in Ubers with the Dynamax Clause banning the worst Dmax users there (Ubers Council made an exception to the usual 'no complex bans' rule as it's Ubers and they wanted to keep this mechanic in if possible!). You can also use that, and Megas, and Z moves, and the cut Pokemon and moves, in the National Dex formats (they have UU as well so if you played some and got bored of the National Dex (OU) format you could play Nat Dex UU!). So I think there are options in Smogon metas to use Gmax still. Of course there's also the Battle Stadium Singles format. Also yes Res I think making use of your earlier content is a good idea so happy to try and watch whatever you upload! :) Also would love to see you finish your challenge run! :D

Great video! It's always fascinating seeing the reasoning behind the choices you make in battle. I'm hoping to one day develop some decent battle sense after watching your videos!

Thank you Boof! That's the goal. I think the next battle coming on Aug 30th does an even better job explaining my reasoning and team choices. My Teambuilding tutorial still holds up surprisingly well too. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video :)

Showdown is a really cool thing, but it is undeniably not as pretty as the real games. ...although those crowded stadiums seem really unrealistic, RIP suspension of disbelief Kappa
