    That guy at 24:39 is obviously a Pokemon Master. Where else have you seen such mastery of the physical Koko? The strength of running two Choice Scarfs on one team? The high-tier predictions of Dark Pulsing in the face of a Forretress when your opponent has a pokemon immune to Fire? What a truly talented and devilishly handsome trainer, and you are very lucky to have battled him.

    Creative Name it’s best to build your team around either current metas or your own personal preference. You also want to keep in mind the types that most of your Pokémon are weak to. Let’s take Dragapult for example. I know that dragapult is weak to fairy types, so I have my dragapult learn steel wing to counter that. Also, yes sweepers should almost always be fast. If you have a slow sweeper, it needs to have high enough defense to take a couple hits.

All the pokemon showdown draft streams you've been doing have been a great way ease my way into the whole competitive pokemon scene, and as I've been getting a bit more confident with it lately I've been contemplating trying to start building my own teams from scratch. I'm a better chess player than I am a Pokemon trainer. The chess analogy made a lot of things clock immediately as you said it. My Slowking stall strategies from Ultra Sun remind me a lot of pawn endgames because you can leverage the tiniest of advantages into a calculated victory. Trading pieces is also a valid strategy in Pokemon. Instead of switching out, you can land one last hit and sacrifice the Pokemon in order to build a lot of pressure for your next turn. This is like dropping a pawn for a better position, a gambit. Weather, stealth rock, and status effects are like when you lock down the board so only a couple of select pieces are relevant. Anyways, it's a great analogy that will help me decide strategy for the rest of my Pokemon career.

    I never got to play the pokemon games until sun and moon but I was obsessed with the anime and me and my friends not knowing the proper rules of the tcg made our own up so when I entered the game world I didnt have the typical newb expierience I finally have a game where I found all the pokemon I love such as oricorio, leafeon, primirina, milotic and so many others I cant name them but I always have had a hard time picking them because I love them all so much i feel bad for not using them and making it even harder I never could get anymore complicated then typing in strategy but this has helped the one Ive always known I wanted was my leafeon because I noticed in my first or second playthrough that it could hit hard and if it was up against a high defense pokemon it could usually last long enough for me to either grind through that pokemon with potions and revives or keep itself hanging on with giga drain I had a hard time figuring where its weaknesses was though and how to fix them but now thanks to this i figured out I can fit all of my favorites on a team if I really think about it so thanks :3

    Great intro into teambuilding, as well as a pretty solid RU team(as someone who has played competitively since mid gen 6). Only thing is I would've probably put normalium-z on Diancie. Diancie has no recovery options and will get worn down checking all the fires, flyings, darks and dragons in the tier(as well as hazards) and so at least, normalium-z gives access to Z-heal bell which will replenish its health to full. It's a 1 time use, but it can come in clutch when that Honchcrow is alive and Diancie is at 30% or something. Edit: Also consider replacing aqua jet(it hardly tickles most things it wants to revenge killl, easy to predict, and you'd use First Impression on them anyways) with Spikes. Golisopod more than other mons on your team relies so heavily on predictions, so at least in the early game, Spikes is a decent move since Golisopod forces a lot of switches.

  • @Resonance22Channel

    @Resonance22Channel

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Anirudh! Z-Heal Bell is an interesting option yeah. I wanted the team to be a little simpler by having a Z-move as a nuke but if anyone reads this later they should know it's a great alternative. I also agree that Aqua Jet can definitely be Spikes. I do think Aqua Jet has its merits too. Both are good for different reasons. :)

I have to go catch my Pivot/Defogger but I can't decide the other 3 Pokémon. Here's what I got so far and would love suggestions for my final 3 members: Keldeo (Resolute): Item- Leftovers (for healing and a bit of bulkiness,) Moves- Calm Mind, Scald, Secret Sword, & Taunt; Nature- Timid, IVs- All Perfect (I used a Gold Bottle Cap on it as I like Keldeo,) EVs- 252 SpA 4 SpD 252 Speed. Tornadus-T: Item: Flyinium Z, Moves- Hurricane, Knock Off, U-Turn, & Defog; Nature- Timid (for Extra Speed,) IVs- Any Necessary Perfects, EVs- 4 HP 252 SpA 252 Speed.

    Hi John. That's the kind of thing you learn through experience and watching competitive battles which I upload regularly. You kinda have to learn the metagame, which is what I teach. Hopefully you stick around and you'll learn over time. :) I always answer questions to help. Here are 2 battles that go over how I build teams with EVs and there are more guides coming: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ppx2j8SCdK_Scpc.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/k654mMSQc9SdhLw.html/ I also offer coaching on Patreon and for Twitch Subs which I really appreciate. I have a playlist of Pokemon battles here: kzread.info/head/PLOZFzqxtvtxdCHne7kzcdVvLSt15sgN4u I hope all that stuff helps. Really it's just something you learn from experience and a good teacher. Thankfully I've played a lot and had many good mentors, so I'm here to pass down what I know.

    So all we need to do to get a team built around a list of favorites is to be a Patreon Supporter or Twitch sub? Can we get feedback on our own teambuilding as well - like if we send a team with our thought process on why certain pokemon made the cut and get feedback critiquing the build?

    What's the best way to deal with a pokemon you want on your team that has a 4x weakness? I love Quagsire, but I don't really know how to cover it's weakness. Should I just have a few pokemon resistant to grass moves on the team? Should I have a sap sipper on the team? A few pkmn resistant to grass and a sap sipper? I feel like I'm a little too concerned about its grass weakness, but figure I'd ask here since you seem to know your stuff!

    Thanks Blitz! If you'd like to help keep the channels funded, I mention in the video that I offer teambuilding workshops to Twitch Subs and Patreon supporters. I can build you a team with anything you like. You have a lot of options but I'd recommend pairing Haxorus with maybe Mamoswine for hazards/typing and or a pivot like Scizor or Rotom-Mow. How do I know this? The best way to learn how to build teams is from experience and watching battles, which I post regularly and have a playlist of that which will really help you. Answering your question in-full would require a lot of follow-up questions but if you keep watching my stuff you will learn how to build teams. :D You can see how I build teams in this video (and most of mine): kzread.info/dash/bejne/ppx2j8SCdK_Scpc.html I demonstrate it in this video too: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k654mMSQc9SdhLw.html And here's the playlist. kzread.info/head/PLOZFzqxtvtxdCHne7kzcdVvLSt15sgN4u I hope to see you around and that my suggestions are a good start.

    So what is the viability that you secretly sneak in Fire Punch on ever pokemon in the team? Jokes aside, I'm a pretty average Pokemon battler so this helps a bit with all the big brain playing required lol.

    Hi thats a great Video thank you. I tried to make my own team trying to keep in mind the things you said. It is a UU team I made for single battles but I just keep losing because my pokemon keep dying so quickly. So now I would appreciate it very much if you could help me make a team with the pokemon I like, which would be gardevoir, milotic, leafeon, umbreon, Hawlucha, gengar... I dont want all of them in the team and of course I like many more. The team I tried was a sunny day leafeon team which sucked. If you dont find time to help me I can understand.

    Im building my leafeon and at the moment Im worried about the fact that on multiple occasions Ive noticed my leafeon can get one hit fairly easily even though it does outspeed alot of times the original moveset I had for it was swords dance,giga drain, x scissor, and last resort my strategy would to be start with a swords dance then if it hasnt been hit to hard use x scissor and if I start getting worried with the hp to use giga drain so at that point I can use last resort if im in bad situation and chipping health back with giga drain isnt working I have been debating changing around the giga drain and x scissor I thought that giga drain wouldnt be as bad with the lower special attack because of the stab but im noticing its still strugling and with X-scissor since it doesnt have stab even with the attack aid it can struggle too so Im kinda on the fence on what to do at the moment

    They are both really popular! Singles might be more popular by a small margin but Doubles is the official format for VGC console tournaments while Singles is usually the format on Pokemon Showdown. Pokemon Showdown does support double battles though and has its own tier list for those which is nice. So yeah people play both :)
