I don't care what nobody said that is the right way how to make Jamaica that is the real Jamaican style

My mother passed over a year ago and I haven't been able to cook since. But this video today has really brought back fond memories of her making this . I think I 'm ready to start cooking again now. You just go ahead and cook whenever you’re ready. grief has no time frame and we all heal at different paces… Your mom is with you and she’ll be right by your side when you decide you’re ready. I hope you make a fantastically delicious feast for yourself to enjoy 😊

I am so grateful this came across my KZread feed. I have two young men that work for me that are from Jamaica and right now I am growing their scotch bonnet peppers for them in my garden and I am going to make this for them to surprise them next time they come.! I hope it will bring a smile to their face! They’re such wonderful young men and such hard workers .

As a Trini I have to say I really love Jamaican food & bake goods!!

GOD bless you hon i list my mom two years ago 80 years of age killed in her back yard,i really miss her i talk to her in my mind all the timedhe was naturally gifted when it comes to cooking and baking miss her so much will try this

Very much like persimmon pudding- my mother made all the puddings in cans. She's from Georgia...when asked how she was feeling- she would reply " Just Peach-ee"!

People dont realize how many different types of sweet potatoes there are and the taste is totally different. Yeah, I saved this specfically because of the firmness she was able to achieve without using eggs... I'm allergic to them, and wanted to perfect my vegan sweet potato pie. The last two years it's been too loose. I picked up some great tips in terms of the different types of yams.This is brilliant! I love how similar our foods are across the African Diaspora.

I was scrolling and saw your video. Do you have a recipe for people who are diabetic and want to make this pudding?

My grandmother made a cross of this and traditional sweet potato pie (in the States) I never understood why she did but now I can see why..her 2nd husband was Jamaican...this is what he grew up on..her pie was the compromise...

Only if you can cook. Jamaican food is not easy to cook because it is not from the box. A lot of time intensive and precise.
