Tamales are believed to have originated in Mesoamerica. They consist of a corn-based (masa) shell and flavorful filling that’s wrapped in either a corn husk or a banana leaf and then steamed. Our version is not traditional, but is inspired by the concept and flavors.

Idk its something a lot of people do to be healthier though I’m sure you could just use oil instead of water

Can I find masa harina and dried cornhusks at a normal grocery store? Or do I have to go specialized?

Som Thing Not sure why you’re being so rude. It was a simple question. Christie it honestly depends on your location. I can find corn husks and masa harina year round but that’s because I live in Southern California and my local grocery store is geared toward serving our Latino/Hispanic population. If you can I would go to a Mexican grocery store just to up your chances of finding them!

Bianca Jingles Thank you so much!! I live on the east coast, which may explain why I’ve never seen these ingredients before. You’re the best🤗

you didn't show the inside of the tamale - it was blocked by your pics of other videos. Also, white font is not good on a light background. Use a black font.

Bro ikr its so annoying because this channel is like “we only use ten ingredients in our recipes!” But then the ingredients are things I’ve never even heard of or just hard to find 🙄 Kinda defeats the purpose of being easy recipes lol. This vid isn’t actually too bad but some of the other ones are like....what in the living hell are you using bro

At the store, wow. You must not purchase foods outside of the typical foods, or cook, etc,. Any Walmart will have these ingredients.

I have to say those Tamales look boring and tasteless. I make Vegan tamales and everyone love them. These are"" flavorless tamales. I can see that by how they're made. Note: use vegetable broth and vegan butter/mixed with Olive oil in the Masa Harina. Also hook up the Sweet Potatoes with vegan ghee or vegan butter, garlic and finely chopped onions. Mash the Black beans and add garlic, vegan ghee/butter and coconut milk and cilantro. Mash. This mixture added to your tamale husk will be amazing.
