Sweden: History, Geography, Economy & Culture
Join me as I take a whirlwind tour of Sweden's history, geography, economy and culture. 🇸🇪
Sweden's influence in the world is huge in comparison to its population size. Why is this? What is it in the culture and people of Sweden that makes it so disproportionately influential? In this video I hope to provide the answer by an examination of some facts about Sweden, its history and geography.

Sweden is famous for its Viking past, but less well known is after Gustav Vasa freed the Swedes from the yoke of foreign influence, the power it wielded in the 17th and 18 Centuries was one of the greatest in Europe, in what was known as the Swedish Empire.
Today, the is much more peaceful, and has a reputation as an honest broker in peace negotiations through over two centuries of abstaining from war.
Have you thought about what it's like living in Sweden? Although being a member of the EU, it has retained its currency, the Swedish Krona. The Swedish economy is very strong and stable, and its companies are known globally, including IKEA, Volvo, Saab, Scania, Ericsson and Spotify.
It's culture is one of the most liberal in the world, with personal freedom being of top importance throughout its history.
🌲 If you're interested in travel to Sweden, one should be aware of its climate, landscapes, biomes and geography. Taiga (boreal forest) in the north dominates❄️, mixed forest is in the middle, and broadleaf deciduous forest in the south, although much land in the southern part is given over to farming. The top three cities are the capital of Stockholm, followed by the industrial centre of Gothenburg (Göteborg) and Malmö, which lies across the Øresund Bridge from Copenhagen.

Proud to be Swedish! We have such a gorgeous country that is really underappreciated in terms of tourism. A road/rail/bus/bicycle trip around Sweden is something more people should do. Just make sure to come in the Summer :)

I attempted to travel through Sweden by bicycle in 2022, and I gave up quickly: The 2+1 roads are just too dangerous. And it wasn't always possible to bike smaller country roads. As soon as you left city limits, you ended up riding on the road. I agree that Sweden is a very beautiful country. Just biking probably is not the best mode of transportation.

Trust me, You don't want tourism there, therefore..I am also against, it will purely destroy the traditions, the peace, ans so the globalization progress will accelerate there. Sweden is one of the few countries in which people aren't degenerated. Tourism would just bring way too many idiots.

Let's just be clear everyone. Sweden is NOT a socialist country. It's clearly a free market capitalist one, with a very supportive social net. It's become more free market during the last 15 years. With even the pharmacy, healthcare and post-office among other things turning into free market enterprises.

@@Geodiode Thank you very much! Oh, I do, for sure, and I enjoyed this one, as well! Other reason I bring up Sweden's culture is because we have a family friend/physician, I think you call it...? (but also our friend) Who Lived in Sweden for around 15 years, I think? (he's from Nigeria, originally, but his family moved to Sweden at a very young age for him, before moving to Canada, where I am and was born etc) and he's told us all kinds of stories about Sweden. All bout the culture, and also how beautiful some of the islands are there... How there's nothing like the beautiful nature and the smell of the air there etc in the world... but also how much it can suck in the winter when it's cold, and the days are much shorter... :P Lol and his son even still lives in Sweden! So, I guess that' part of what kickstarted my fascination with Sweden. Well, mini rant aside, keep up the good work, bud! :)
Loved !!
Beautiful landscape. He has a very beautiful voice. Very informative. The place I was born has the same climate as this. Extremely cold in winter but cool and sunny in summer. In winter we used to have one meter of snow so we spent most times indoors but surrended with loved one. We used wood to heat our home. Everything natural and beautiful. They say Scandinavian beautiful blue eyes are as a result of the area they live. That got me into thinking. Made me realize why I have fair ly lighter eye and eyebrow.

I am going to rank every Koppen climate type. If you don't want to read a wall of text, this probably isn't for you. If you do, than feel free! 1. Cwb (Perfect winters, summers humid but mild) 2. Csb (Perfect summers, winters very mild, but can be dreary) 3. Cfb (Perfect temperatures, but you never really get a break from the rain) 4. Csa (Most pleasant after the wet season before it gets too hot) 5. Cwa (Humid summer) 6. Cfa (Predictable rainfall, but more humid summers than Cfb) 7. Aw (Summers not too hot because of monsoon) 8. Am (More humid than Aw) 9. As (Summer too hot) 10. Bsn (Warm enough year round, not excessively dry) 11. Bwn (Too dry for me, but at least I don't have to deal with extremes) 12. Bsk (Nice and dry, but both summers and winters can get excessively hot and cold) 13. Bsh (Without the summer monsoon, this would be ranked far lower) 14. Af (Hot and humid year round, but the lack of 95+ degree weather is a saving grace) 15. Dwb (Winters are tolerable because of the lack of snowfall) 16. Dfb (Summer is the only pleasant time of year) 17. Dsb (Too much snow) 18. Dsa (Also too much snow, but the dry summers help a lot) 19. Dfa (Combines a lot of the bad aspects of Dsa and Cfa) 20. Dwa (Unfortunately this usually involves extra cold winters because of dry weather) 21. Cwc (Dry winter brings this one up) 22. Cfc (Summerless maritime climates suck, but at least I don’t have to deal with extremes) 23. Csc (Cold rain and ice are less pleasant than warm rain) 24. Bwk (I am NOT built for extremes. The dry weather is both a blessing and a curse in the extreme seasons) 25. Dfc (Imagine Cfc, but the winters are a death wish) 26. Dwc (The one pleasant time of year is now too humid for me) 27. Dsc (The winters are INSANE) 28. ET (Surprisingly, some alpine tundra climates don’t consistently go below freezing. Just a glimmer of hope...) 29. Bwh (You should read Mario Prosperi’s story. That is why this climate is ranked so low) 30. EF (Do I really need to explain this one)

As a retired swedish ww2 hero I want to add to the story: We should be thankful and grateful to Norway since most of the nature in the form of scenery, soil / stones and wildlife etc has drifted from the Norwegian hills and mountains to form what today is called sweden. Not many mention this fact - but we should do more to show gratitude toward Norway and the norwegian people. And we should also finally admit that the vikings originally came from Norway (and later spread to sweden and denmark).
Sweden such a beautiful, peaceful,& educated country...
Um país nórdico excelente. ❤❤
