3.5 Eco can easily make 500HP 600FTLB with nothing but a little boost. This ain't your grandpas 220HP V6. It's a great choice for a reliable engine in a cruiser that still has some pep when you get on it. Not every build needs an 800HP 440CI.

12:45 Suggestion. By stopping the gusset strait across you have created a focused stress point. It may be something that could take years to show up or maybe the very first time you really romp on the engine. I would suggest that you taper the gusset so that the stress is distributed. Just like using a fish plate on the frame. Great project.

Ehh I have one with 160k miles, valve seals are going out… it has always had a blow by issue (never got around to putting a catch can on it), spark plugs only last me 20k miles at best… I have had it since 45k miles and my maintenance has not been “perfect”, but I’ve only had one extended oil change interval during my ownership. I let it get to about 10k before one oil change a while back (I wasn’t to worried though because I’ve always ran full synthetic). I’m not sure how long my engine is going to let now without some top end work…
