Suzuki Samurai project: Rock Block dual transfer case installation
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video, I install a used Trail Tough Rock Block in my Samurai. This gives me an additional 2:1 low range, good for the technical rock crawling trails.

Nice to see some functional modification Samurai vids on KZread! Nicely done, not overly long, and informative. I hope between you, TJ and a few others, the Samurai can have a nice future on KZread.

Hi friends, Where can I buy a rock block?
Hey Matt great vid man! by any chance could you give some insight into your suspension? i was really wanting to do a linked coil over setup but there are no good videos online that i have found. Thanks!
Sweet Sami dude, where did you get your link suspension or did you build
do they have rock block for vitara???? nice rig awesome by the way I'm following your your blog since i have a samurai Jx and a Vitara 5 doors.
How do i build one like that for my self the model is the same
Hello! I'm interested in buying a Samurai. The one I have my eye on is a clothtop with the bed in the back. I've been pondering ways to make a hardtop out of it, mostly involving chopping another tub in half and newfing them together. Anyways, by the looks of it you've already done this to your truck somehow. Would you be able to give me a little insight into how you made the hardtop? Or if you bought it where from? thanks! Anyone here with info on this is welcome to throw advice my way as well
Does the unit take any oil?
Será que podemos ver el vídeo en español?
Me gustaria ver como la hizo o como la consiguio porfavor
Very detailed video man.... Thanks for this a lot.. Every thing got cleared right away earlier there was help of a confusion.. Can u tell me from where can I get this transfer case??
cool set up. Where did you find the Rock Block? What did you use for your front axle radius arms on your Suzuki?
Did you experienced any vibrations on road use after going LOW/LOW offroad?
That slow crawl is awesome! That being said where is your bet on the new weak link?

Jim Melber I hope that there are no more weak links in the drivetrain!
Nice! I have a rock block in mine as well. Though you should know its actually a 1.8:1 gear reduction (From a sidekick I believe) not a 2:1. Just thought you might want to know. The Zuk is looking great!

Since I can't change the video now, we'll just round 1.8 up to 2.0 and call it good :)
Привет, скажите пожалуйста, где можно заказать такой рок блок?
internal gear video ?
How long did it take you to modify your samurai to the point where it is now? You've obviously put a lot of work and love into that rig so I was just curious...

Brandon Andrews it seems like it is in a constant state of repair or upgrade. I've owned over a dozen samurais over the years, but I have owned this black one the longest, around 5 years. I'd guess that I have a couple hundred hours of work into it, cumulative.
Where I can buy?
Hi, that's one awesome slow Samurai, so I have a question, where can I buy rock block?
@MattVerley

Unfortunately, they're not for sale any more. There are a few used ones up for sale every now and then.
how to build this transfer case
Why don't they still make the Rock Block? Its brilliant! I want one!
Where can I get one of these today? I have Jimny though. Anyone have any idea where to get one of these engineered? Would this be suitable for a daily driver / overlander?
@MattVerley
5 жыл бұрын
They're only available used now. Trail Tough used to sell the kit, but they no longer do. They're not the best product for a daily driver; depending on when you put it back in high range, the u-joints can be out of phase and cause a bit of vibration. Extended freeway speeds can cause the case to get pretty hot, too.
Hi, I want to ask if you made or bought a gearbox, if you bought it, send me a link to the page. Well thank you.
Any chance you still have that Rock Block for your samurai?? Been looking for one for a while, just thought I would ask ya. Thanks

I've heard of the mysterious "Rock Block", now I've actually seen one! Great video! Are you going to make some videos of your zuk rock crawling?
@MattVerley
7 жыл бұрын
Jim Wallace yes, I have 4 trips planned this summer with my Samurai. But, I already have several videos up of it crawling with its old suspension and axles...including one trip on the Rubicon. you can find those videos on my KZread channel.

sewerzuk, I enjoy watching your overland videos but never saw the crawler vids. I'll look for them tonight. I have a zuk buggy, linked on 37s and a daily zuk on 31s, (geared, locked f/r, cage) I trailer them to Rausch Creek Off Road Park in PA a few times a year and plan to bring my daily driver zuk down on the 22nd. Lately I have much more fun rock crawling the little zuk. I've never wheeled out west and would love to. I'll video some of the east coast wheeling in a couple weeks and post it on my channel. If you're board, check it out.
