Suzuki Capuccino - Japanese K- Car Turbo Goodness!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
K-Cars are a Japanese oddity. Built to confirm to local rules that allow very small cars not to need had too get parking permits in Japan. Mostly quite drab things but the Japanese manufacturers made a few mad sporty turbocharged ones as well...

I've got one too and I can vouch for all the commentary made in this video. They really are incredible cheap to run (the 660 cc in-line 3 cylinder power unit has the same displacement as some medium size bikes - but they are not bike engines) and tremendous fun to drive. Their incredibly small turning circle makes it unbelievably useful in congested areas such as parking in the cities. They also sit so low to the road that I get incredible looks from other drivers of ordinary saloons whilst in traffic. What a gem! :)

Good to see the Cappuccino being reviewed. I had one new in ‘95. Lots of fun at sensible speed. You should have demonstrated the clever roof.
Enjoyed the video as always! Turbo busa ha ha now that would be interesting!😃

Thanks Ryan, hoping he does not do it.. it's a lovely little car as it is and he has so many other projects!!
What a fantastic video, when I saw the car I thought what the hell is going on but by the end I was thinking I want one as a great little town car!

Glad we've converted you Carl.. it's a car for true enthusiasts and not those who are stuck up about their cars having to look a certain way or have the right badge. If you like cars you have to admire it, there is simply very little else around like it!
Perfectly captures the machine - the film is fun just like the car. Love your comment about "normal people" taking the piss. It was great to see how it changed driving solo, good call to throw Jago out into the street there. Great film and great car.

Thanks Tom.. loved you ice video!
When I lived in the UK I had one. It is a modern version of the Austin Healey Sprite (an in my personal list of 'dream cars' it is the No. 2 after the Frogeye Sprite).
Awesome fun, great little car
850 pounds, bargain! This and the Autozam AZ-1 are cool little cars.

its not a bargain..... its a steal !!!
Proper cool and totally get why your mate bought it! I bet you could drive from one of the country to the other and not see one anywhere! Pretty cool and cheap way into exclusivity!

Hey, Scooby being picked up soon .. watch this space!! but don't tell anyone. May hold off a week or two to space things out a bit
Very NEARLY bought Mrs Housey one of these when they came out. Still think they're ace.
I've seen a few of these around Sydney roads. Cool review, I always wondered what these cars were about, as they don't make much sense on Australian roads, our distances are too great between towns and cities to sit in such a small car.

Yep, I can see that in Oz they would make much less sense.. maybe in some of the bigger towns.. It's the engineering behind it I admire!
I was expecting the beginning song to be a cover of Anthem
Suzuki also made the AZ-1 sports car with the gullwing doors sold by Mazda, Cara sold by Suzuki.
I watched this then straight on gumtree. I saw them many moons ago and theres a few knocking about in East London. Time for a proper search.

Number27 definitely, will be a third car as I can't get rid of my MX-5 (I know what your thoughts are about those) this or a Honda beat in yellow, let the hunt begin.

I was going to say... a Beat though a little slower as not turbocharged is another great choice. Told Jago I might get one and we can have a competition!

i own 1% of all the cappuccinos running in the UK... 2 of them :D (once it's over 100BHP, it gets really fun)
I like the idea of a more powerful engine in these, but I really love a good manual gearbox, and the sequential would be a bit odd in a car.
Great video, used to see one of these on my London commute so maybe perfect for zipping around town. Looks like you’re in Putney?

I love this little thing, I'm afraid the closest I've ever gotten to one is playing Gran Turismo, but I did spend a fortune on it.

The limit is 660 cc in Japan for kei cars.

Good call Kristof!! I agree entirely. Would love to try a Honda S600
With a few tweaks you can get 100 HP out of that engine. Namely new injectors, flash the electronics, and maybe a new turbo

Congestion?! The UK should have introduced Kei car rules decades ago.
don't really get or see k cars in the USA which is a shame few small cars they build but not K cars. I do see the little trucks which are awesome

it's not a K car it's a Kei car, there's a big difference! here i was hoping for a mid 80's crhysler K car with a turbo
I recon a cappuccino with a hayabusa engine would be frickin' scary to drive.
