The thing I love about Rudy is that while he may have held onto the trappings of homophobia in some his comments (the result of his age and what he was used to and all that), but in truth you could tell that he had no real feelings of homophobia. He didn't have the slightest ill will toward Richard, and he was happy to form a real friendship with him. The most unlikely of duos, and yet they also made perfect sense

How is saying "not in a homosexual way" homophobia? It's just another way to say he's not gay.

@@exiaR2x78 But it was also the accepted term. We've had lots of terms that were considered politically correct that we'd be shocked at now. My grandmother grew up in an era where it was "colored people" and that was the correct way to address them. So when it became "African-American" she'd been taught "colored people" so long that she just didn't make the switch. She wasn't racist, she was just taught a different way.

Rudy wasn’t just in the navy. Rudy was revered in the seal teams. At one point, he was the senior enlisted advisor to SOCOM (just a few of his accolades). So you can imagine the kind of badass Rudy was to be putting sun tan lotion on Rich on national TV knowing his friends are all career Navy Seals. LOL.

Depends on what your idea of what good was. When it first started there was more of a sociology aspect to it. Now it's much more physical leaning despite the game being less physical in nature. It honestly feels the challenges are just an afterthought now.
