Coach this season was legendary. He came in as an outsider who was disliked by nearly all, he had a massive target on his back but that didn't stop him. He bulldozed his way through the season, he wasn't the leader of his tribe, no, he was its ruler. His manipulation and gaslighting were so top-tier that he was almost like a cult leader.

lol coach is such a flirt, "I like your smile."

Coach has my favorite character arc in all of Survivor. As the seasons go on, you see his clownish bluster drop away, you see a raw nerve and a guy who just wants to belong. And then he returns on South Pacific as this wizened master who blows through everyone's low expectations all the way to the end. It's like seeing a real-life Kenny Powers get his pitch back.

@@theobecquet8477 Coach had a strong game this season. he was on track to win the game had he OWNED his game. but he went back to old Coach in the FTC. saying he played with honor, loyalty, blah, blah, blah. if Coach was still Coach, he would only win a scenario that includes Cochran and Edna

Coach reaching FTC by playing the most Coach game ever, but losing for the exact same reason was just fascinating TV. The Cochran flip is legendary.

Players like Coach and Ozzy really make me want to see a Survivor season of all runners-up.

Only problem with the season is a runner-up gonna be a runner-up again

I’m not usually a guy who needs to see flashy moves, I can appreciate Sophie’s game but I just don’t see her game compares to Coaches. His social awareness was off the charts, and his ability to calm down the hot temperatures of his alliance and keep them in line was unbelievable. Other than likability I just don’t see what she had over him. She still a great player I just think he deserved to win this season

Because there is literally no reason, she wasn't even good socially and the jury told her that at FTC. The only argument is that she beat Ozzy at the last challenge

I think if coach voted for Albert instead of ozzy at the final 4 he would probably have won the game. The perception of coach was that he was spouting bs about honour and integrity, but if he was actually loyal to ozzy to the end his perception likely would have changed a bit

No he would not have, Ozzy was on redemption island for a long time and saw all the cast aways before they got sent to the jury, they all would have voted for Ozzy

This was the only season I really liked him in. I'm glad he came back this time.

Coach is an amazing guy, a really good man. We sometimes judge him too harshly because Survivor editors portrayed him as the villain, and rightfully so, they need villains to make the show great. Coach is charismatic and intense, and he is lovable. He needs to win a season, he deserves that

Edna i felt bad for since she wasnt on that day 1 five but was the only one that gave Coach a chance. Coachs speech to Cochran is very Johnny Lawrence haha

Same Tocatines a bit much. Heroes vs Villains didn't really do anything. This season absolutely dominated.

Survivor All Stars, Samoa and South Pacific had some massively bitter juries. Coach didn’t have a great FTC but Sophie’s wasn’t that great either. Coach should’ve won that season.

The jury was bitter towards all three of the finalists. They all had equal chances to win at that point, but Sophie ended up winning because she had a better FTC performance. Coach kept giving excuses for the honors and integrity mantra that he didn't follow, and Sophie ended up turning that against him, especially with Brandon's vote when she revealed that Coach lied about how the idol was found.

alexis in micronesia. when parvati, amanda, cirie were doing the torchwalk-schtick parvati describes her as "a charmer." ppl were afraid of going up against her in the end bc she's a motivational speaker. would've been in the final 5 if not for amanda's idol. when people talk about the black widow brigade she's never mentioned. I think if Coach won this season he would be in season 40 and if they couldn’t get more than 4 people that play on the same season since we have 6 people Rob Parvati Sandra Tyson JT and Tom that played in heroes vs villains if there had to be only 4 which the 4 people in the cast were Rob Parvati Sandra and Tyson I do think if Coach was this season and was casted for season 40 he could have taken Tyson’s spot

Coach was meant to go from day 1, everybody hated him, yet he managed to secure an alliance that listened to him till the end and made a lot of good strategic moves on the way. Sophie just went along with it and thats it, Coach was calling the shots, he was the main reason for his groups success. The only reason why he didnt win was because he was too stubborn to drop this Coach BS in front of the jury. Ozzy even begged him to just own up to what he did, acknowledge that he lied and backstabbed to get to the final because he wanted to vote for him as he played a good game. But he didnt, he still wanted to come off as this righteous warrior. He had the game won before the final council but lost it in those couple of minutes. Everyone acknowledged that he played an amazing game (including Cochran who is as expert on survivor as they get) but were annoyed that he refused to tell the truth even in the very end. That's how.

Yes he had a target on him, but like Albert said, he needed to heavily rely on others as a result of that. “Made a lot of good strategic moves on the way.” Sure, but give me ONE move Coach made without Sophie being involved. “Coach was calling the shots” He wasn’t, Sophie was. Look at the episode where Brandon was voted out. You can clearly see she is telling Coach and Rick to vote out Brandon. Look at the Cochran boot, she was the one who swapped it from Edna to Cochran. Coach was a figurehead. Sophie was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. SHE was the one who kept the entire alliance intact and stopped Albert from making any unnecessary moves. Sophie knew Coach wasn’t gonna win in the end. She knew he wasn’t gonna own up to his game. She used that to her advantage, and won deservingly so.

He was calling the shots, everyone was coming to him, he was the leader that brought them together, he persuaded Cochran to vote with them, he found the idol and made Ozzy waste his, he manipulated everybody and he kept them all loyal, even though he was lying to them every day. I'm not saying Sophie didn't do anything, I actually think they didn't do her justice with the edit, however, Coach played his ass off and deserved to win. The people that played with him knew it and I understand why they were so frustrated with him, even after everything, he still couldn't tell the truth, he was still lying to them. Again, Ozzy wanted to vote for him, he knew how damn well he played, but he couldn't get him to stop being Coach for a couple of minutes and in that, he lost the game.

Sophie was just as strategic as him and more of a social threat him bc of how he acted thinking he was destined by god to win. He had a chance at FTC but he couldn’t own up to his game.
