Thats exactly how i feel im new to sim racing and sometimes if i take 1 or 2 days off due to being just too tired after work. Whenever i have time to play and get back into it i literally have to grind out a few hrs just to remember how the Mx-5 feels around the track.

You're right about not needing to downshift in corners, in the MX5 especially, unless it's a hard hairpin you rarely need to shift into 1st. It's a very short gear so when you're downshifting into it the engine speed is far lower than the gearing wants the engine speed to be, so it slows down the rear wheels very quickly as it speeds up the engine, I hope that makes sense? 2:30

First time watching, up that FOV to get a full view and look through the corner. Keep your eyes where you want to go don’t look at the wheel or right infront of the car, instinctively you’ll make the car go there.

hey man, keep it up. Try slow laps, and steadely increase the speed. 1e goal, get 5 tot 10 slow laps in even if they are 6 minutes a lap 2nd, increase speed slowly. 3e get a feel for the car. Remember, 1st day you where driving a real car you were not racing it around a track. Build skill, else you just keep f'ing up with no clue why. I feel like you get to the corner and its like when you first take an intercection to many things to watch for. Learn to shift, brake, ... spinn out alot and try to figure out why, watch the replays, and watch youre inputs. You will figure it out!

hey man, make sure you get the car properly slowed down before the corner, then turn, then power out, remember slow in fast out. the reason the first turn was giving you so many problems is you were coming in with too much speed so mid corner the car was understeering (going wide)so then you had to turn more to stay on line and the car gets away from you. Watch the brake pressure on the left by the gear, fully brake then slowly come off, you started slowing down with like 40% brake pressure. Bare in mind my game of choice isnt iRacing so how much my knowledge applies wont be 100% so iRacing gurus please correct what i've said if it doesn't apply to iRacing specifically

At 3:30 you are down shifting too quickly causing the engine to hit the rev limiter and locking the rear wheels. Keep at it brother

you seem to turn in too early and effectively cut the corner, if you stay wide on entry and try to open the track up you might find it easier to turn.

You need to be a lot more smooth when turning and not jerk the wheel, that will upset balance...just one smooth motion. Practice the track at like 40% speed and pay attention to those race lines and their colors while practicing. Doing races at the level you're at I wouldn't recommend as you'll have an increasingly hard time getting out of rookies especially if you can't yet stay behind the pace car (no offense meant).
